Has anyone ever made hot cross buns successfully? I tried doing a search and didn't come up with anything.

I haven't tried these myself but I did a chocolate cake from their site and it was brilliant.

Bette Hagman has a recipe for Hot Cross Buns in her "The Gluten-Free Gourmet Cooks Comfort Foods." I haven't tried it, nor do I ever remember having these buns, so I can't vouch for it personally.

Barring actually making them, Kinnikinnik has some for sale, and they are amazing! My dw surprised me with them for Easter! Bette Hageman's recepie looks good too though.

I found this recipe off of some website, but I honestly can't remember which one. I haven't tried it yet, but it looked pretty good to me. Bette Hagman's didn't look as appealing to me since I don't really like bean flours that much. Plus, I LOVE almond extract, so adding a bit of that to the icing sounds very tasty. (If this post comes up with a lot of questions marks, ignore them. I copied this from another program.)

Hot Cross Buns?Gluten Free Recipe

Ingredients:

?2 cups white rice flour?2/3 cup tapioca flour?1/2 potato starch flour?1/3 cup sugar plus 2-teaspoons for yeast?2/3 cup powdered milk?3-1/2 teaspoons xanthan gum?1-1/2 teaspoons salt?2 teaspoons cinnamon?1-1/2 tablespoons rapid rise yeast?1/4 cup olive oil?Three eggs?1 teaspoon vinegar?1 cup yellow raisins?1/2 cup mixed peel (optional)?2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions:

?Dissolve 2-teaspoons sugar in warm water. Add yeast and let proof. Combine dry ingredients in bowl of mixer. Mix eggs, oil and vinegar and add to dry ingredients. Add proofed yeast and beat on high speed for three minutes. Stir in raisins and mixed peel.

Grease two round pie pans. Rice flour hands, cut dough in half, and roll eight buns per pie pan, placing one in the center and seven around. With a knife blade dipped in rice flour, cut an X on top of each bun, and brush with melted butter. Let rise in a warm place for 35-40 minutes. Bake at 375-degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

Icing:

?1 tablespoon butter?1/2 cup powdered sugar?1 teaspoon water?1/8 teaspoon almond extract?1/8 teaspoon orange extract

Directions:

?Cream above adding more sugar to get desired consistency. While still warm, ice a cross on top of each roll.

Recipe makes 16 rolls.

Note:?These rolls freeze well.

Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

      Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
