How Long Do Labs Usually Take Processing This Blood Work?!

I work in a doctor's office, and the lab is in the same building where I work. I went for "celiac antibodies" testing exactly 1 week ago (on Friday April 20) in the lab. I am the person who picks up the lab results for our office and I have looked through all the results every day, and nothing has come back yet. In the office where I work we usually get most tests back the very next day... though I do know that some tests can take a long time to come back.

Anyone have any idea how long labs usually take when processing blood for celiac antibodies?

Hi Annie,

I just got tested last week and my results came back fairly quick (a few days) but I do know that the Lab had to ship to a different location because they do not do that kind of testing in their facility. That may be why it is taking longer?

Hope you get them soon!

I had my blood work taken on Wednesday. The lady @ the labs front counter said 2-3 days. The phlebotimist said a week and the doctors office wouldn't allow me to make my re-check appointment for less than 2 weeks. I don't think they really know how long it takes, they all seemed to be guessing.

We had our son tested 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. I figured it might take some time but I'm starting to get antsy. I said to my husband, "maybe they came back positive and she needs time to do some homework before she has a talk with us about the results". :lol: Really I like her because she seems to have a curious mind. But she was reluctant to test him, in a well meaning cautious way.

I had my blood drawn yesterday and the phlebotomist said my doctor should have the results in 2 business days.

The Celiac panel often takes a little longer, depending on which lab is used....I would say 1-2 weeks is what I have seen/experienced.

      I got my liver test last month and it was in normal range. Two years ago I did have a vitamin D deficiency but I'm know taking vitamin D3 pills. Last month I got my vitamin D checked and it was in normal range. I don't believe I've had my choline checked. However, I do drink almond milk eat Greek yogurt on a daily basis.

      If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly...

      No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Have you been supplementing Iron? How are your liver enzymes? Low levels of ferritin indicate iron deficiency, while  59% transferrin saturation indicates high iron levels.  Possibly indicating Fatty Liver Disease.  Choline is crucial for liver health, and deficiency is a known trigger for Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver.  Some experts say that less than 10% eat the the Food and Nutrition Board established Adequate Intake that are based on the prevention of liver damage. Severe constipation and hemorrhoids may be linked to a bile or choline deficiency.  "Ninety-five percent of phospholipids (PLs) in bile is secreted as phosphatidylcholine or lecithin."  Fatty acid composition of phospholipids in bile in man   Deficiency of these bile salts causes the bile to get thick. Some people with Celiac Disease are misdiagnosed with Gall Bladder bile issues.  Removal of the gallbladder provides only temporary relief. Whether or not celiac disease or NCGS are your issues you need to look at your vitamin D blood level.
