Has anyone had this - where you swallow the camera in the pill?

They don't think I have celiac (they are wrong!). They think I have Crohn's dx.

Yes, I had this done in New York at the Celiac Center. It was simple, swallow the pill with some water, walk around all day with a device strapped around my waist, and then go back to the doctor and give him the device.

Of all the tests I've had done, this was the easiest!

My daughter was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease this week and she was told that she was going to be put on a waiting list to have this done. We were wondering how in the world it worked, thanks so much for posting this!

Hi! I'm new to this forum. I wondered how does this procedure help diagnose for Celiac. My doctor wants me to have it done after I have taken Pepto Bismo for six weeks because my colonoscopy showed I have Colitis. I also had an endoscopy done and it showed gastritis not Celiac. I have positive bloodwork, however, he does not seem convinced it is Celiac. I'm getting discouraged.

I already know I have celiac but, they want me to do the camera pill to see if my celiac is so bad I need to be on pills for the rest of my life. I'm worried about it not passing and then I would have to have it removed through surgery. How often does this happen? I have to make a choice to do it or not and I'm scared. :(

Okay - my Dr. is saying that I have to drink a bottle of magnesium sulfate the day prior to the procedure? Did anyone else have to do this.

They are in for a rude awakening when they find out I have Celiac.

Some drs. require a "prep" for this test. Mine did not. He told me that about 40% of drs. use the prep because they think there is a clearer picture.

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
