Lone Star Steakhouse - Anyone Been?

I was just wondering if anyone has eaten at a Lone Star Steakhouse without any trouble. I'm trying to go to dinner with DD and my parents tonight for her birthday. She *loves* steak but the web site doesn't have any allergy/gluten-free indications. I'm going to call later this afternoon but would like to know if anyone else has tried it with any success.

Our other options in the area are a Village Inn or a Perkins, neither offering gluten-free options and those places scare me a bit since it's mostly sandwiches and breakfast fare (pancakes, toast, etc.) Too much CC risk for me.

I talked to the manager at the Golden, CO location and he was very helpful. He said when we get there to let the server know to have him come to our table and he will help us order. We talked briefly about the menu and it sounds like she'll be able to get a steak seasoned w/ salt and pepper, a baked potato, and some veggies.

I hope this goes well *fingers crossed* as DD has had a rough couple days and I'd love for this to work out for her.

The manager said he'd even open a NEW container of ice cream and use a new scoop so she could have dessert. (Those pesky scoops are always touching cakes and brownies and the like, yikes!).

WISH US LUCK!

We had an awesome meal last night. DD said she did feel gassy but not "glutened" so who knows, but the manager really took care of us. He made her steak himself on a clean grill w/ just salt and pepper and she had a baked potato with butter and steamed veggies (more butter). Plus, he did open a fresh carton of ice cream just for her.

He was a really nice manager and totally seemed willing to bend over backwards for whatever she needed. We totally will be going back. He even said on all you can eat rib night we can bring our own sauce and he'll make her ribs for her. :D

Not to shabby for a chain restaurant. We also went when it wasn't incredibly busy, so I'm sure that helped!

That is awesome! I had a decent experience at the Westminster, CO location. The manager didn't come out, but the server took back the dining card and was right on top of things. It was a good meal, and I didn't feel "glutened" either...

buffettbride hello,

I have been eating at the Glendale Az Lonestar for at least 2 years and the manager at the time I first tried it had a relative that is celiac and so had made up a special menu and even had it laminated, with specific instructions and also trained the staff. it is always a good experience to eat there without a lot of the normal concerns that go with eating out. I went to a different Lonestar in Az and had to give the normal explicit instruction talk to a waiter that at least admitted that he had no idea what gluten was. He did take care to insure our meal was safe. :D

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
