Abdominal Pain?

Ok well here it goes I have had abdominal pain in my left side from my stomach to my pelvic area for the last 8 months no ones been able to figure it out Im pretty sure it is digestive but I don't have an apointment for another two weeks and the pain is getting worse. I have been checked for growths and cyst I went on a cleanse and found out I am allergic to wheat but I thought that is as far as it went. But now I am wondering if it is more than just wheat and from what I have read Celiac is a close relation to a lot of other digestive problems. I have the pain every morning as soon as I wake up then I go to the bathroom and usually it goes away. I have been really stressed this week and the pain is lingering all day like a burning down my left side with a point of pain in my lower left side. I can't even figure out what makes it better or worse I have tried different eating habits more fiber less fiber but it doesn't seem to really make any difference it does get worse during my periods. I didn't know if anyone had any ideas if it sounded like celiac at all or not i probably get tested anyway since I am getting tested for everything else under the sun I did have a blood test a few months ago that showed a high white blood cell count too.

Thanks for any help :D

It sure wouldn't hurt to get tested. I used to have a constant pain in that area that I said felt like I had rocks in my guts. It made my whole body hurt just to take a step because it jarred my guts.

Now I only get that pain when I have been glutened.

I hope you feel better soon.

Have they ruled out endometriosis? This can cause the symptoms you describe.... you could have celiac PLUS endometriosis...so they should check for both.

If the pain is getting worse, you should contact the doctor and let them known the intensity of the pain is changing.

Thinking of you and hope they find out what's going on.

What tests have been done so far? I used to get extreme pain on my left side, which usually coincided with sex. Ultrasounds and pelvic exams showed nothing, so it got added to the list of "it's all in her head" ailments, and it eventually improved on its own. The closest I ever came to an answer was determining on my own that it would only occur within a couple of hours before or after a bowel movement. Fast forward a few years, and suddenly I have a new understanding of why I may have been experiencing pain related to bowel movements! ;)

Get tested for celiac just to be sure- you might have to request it. BUT make sure you're still consuming gluten- eating normal- or else it won't show up on the blood test. Good luck!!

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
