Leaky Gut And Gluten Sensitivity Connection

hi-

Does anyone know if having a gluten sensitivity can cause leaky gut (aka increased intestinal permeability? I had the lactulose/mannitol test and it indicated that my gut permeability was elevated. i then found out my anti-gliadin abs were elevated...so i'm trying to figure out what caused what...did the leaky gut cause the gluten sensitivity or did the gluten sensitivity cause the leaky gut?

It depends. For instance, if you have Lyme disease, you'll have leaky gut, which will cause all kinds of intolerances, including gluten intolerance. If you have celiac disease, it will cause leaky gut also. So, sometimes it's hard to know what came first.

      I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
