I don't really need advice, I just need to vent. It will be fine the next day but for today.....

For now I am a stay at home Mom but will be going back to school then back to work.

Ha, Mom! There is a 23 yrd old son, an 18 yr old step son and my 15 yr old daughter who tries to make it clear she doesn't need me half the time! So really I feel like only sort of a Mom. I feel more like the housekeeper/cook. My son did the dishes a couple of days ago and my daugther put them away last night - notice a name missing? The step son put a new bag in the trash can yesterday and then burnt the hell out of a pan. He offered to buy a new one but not to help me clean it which is what I am doing. The 18 yr old barely works, he has a new job starting soon that is full time but he is supposed to learn some things for this job and he isn't. Worse yet he got the job because people know and respect his Dad, so they offered the son a job. That could be a bad idea. So he barely worked before (15 hrs weekly) and when he is home which is almost all the time he plays Warcraft.

I don't want much, just do something, anything. Oh wait I take that back, do more then just putting the trash bag in. Thats it, nothing else. If his Dad asks him to do something he doesn't do anything but shuts his bedroom door.

I am just very angry and tired of this whole thing. I don't need adivce because I didn't raise my own kids this way and they are not like that. I wouldn't tolerate it. I am not going to break up my relationship over this kid by demanding or even asking for a change. Dad isn't going to change, its too late and the son will move out with in the next year. I would have pulled the plug on the damn game already along with the keys to the car amongst other things.

Just get very angry and tired sometimes. When I was sicker this was even harder to deal with. Yesterday and today were not my best days so this is not helping. All the dishes and laundry and cleaning are awaiting me! :(

Glad you could get that off your chest, Barb :) That all would get on my last nerve, too.

I hope that tomorrow's a much better day!

((((((HUGS)))))) I wish I had something to offer other than sympathy. It sounds like it is time for that young man to learn to be an adult but if his Dad won't back you up you are stuck. I also would be looking forward to his moving out, heck I'd getting him dishes etc and packing for him!

Just said this on another thread . . . how about some nice suitcases for his birthday?

When my brother was that age, he was the same way. His one and ONLY job was to feed the dog. Half the time he couldn't manage to do it. He went into the Navy and things turned around for him. (No Choice  ) Maybe you could invite a recruiter over to the house for dinner?

LOL :D His Dad says the same thing. Dad has tried but has given up. He isn't a bad kid in the way you think of a bad kid, he just seems to have no idea his impact on anyone else. Just thinking about it makes me  again. Ya his Dad was in the navy and keeps trying to get him to go. If he fails at this job he has been given I think he will get the boot. If he does well he can just move out. I can hardly wait for that day.

And thanks for listening I needed it.

What Thiamine Hydrochloride brand do you take? Is it like the other vitamins I have added? What brand Tryptophan and amount do you take. Thanks

I would not think store bought yogurt would contain gluten unless it possibly could be through an added flavoring or coloring ingredient. Otherwise, it should be naturally gluten free.  Keep in mind that some companies are capitalizing on people's fears and ignorance (nothing personal intended) by labeling foods "gluten free" that are just that way by the nature of what they are. They are hoping to create a marketing edge over their competitors by adding "gluten free" because they know it may catch attention of those new to the celiac/gluten sensitivity experience without having to cost them anything in the way of changing their manufacturing process or doing testing.

I believe the GFCO does use a common logo for certified gluten free products (those containing not more that 10ppm of gluten) but nothing universal yet from the FDA for standard gluten free products (those containing not more that 20ppm).

I have a One Pot and decided to start using it one day. I was hesitant at first making my own yogurt, but was surprised at how easy it was. I like mine better too.

Because I spend so much time reading every word on all food packaging, I personally would greatly appreciate it if there was one common gluten-free symbol written in large-enough text, and always located in the same place. That alone will make shopping easier and faster. I dread having to buy packaged food. Thank you very much for asking,
