A Taste Of Thai Peanut Noodles

Dear Gluten-Free Friends,

I got very ill the other week and could not figure out why. I knew I had been glutened. Well, I discovered it may have been the Thai Peanut Noodles from A Taste of Thai. Dad brought them home and read the label before picking them up.

He did not read the second label on the box he picked up behind it.

The boxes were identical, and the first was labeled gluten-free. As I was putting them away, I read the ingredients as usual. One box had wheat in it! Dad could not believe it, because they were in the exact same packaging! I always read things before eating them. So, I was thinking if these things are made in the same facility and just do not have a warning, cc is a good possibility. I am mad! :angry: I wanted to warn others in case they did not know.

I believe they have changed them all now to having wheat in them. The older boxes are gluten-free as the newer ones are not. I unfortunately have 2 of the new boxes I cannot eat. I figured that out about 2 months ago. I was PO'd person.

I will contact them this week and see what they say. I have a bad feeling they were made in the same facility as the ones with gluten. :unsure: Thai Kitchen makes some great ones, but they have been nowhere to be found as of late. Wal-Mart does not carry the same products all of the time. I will let you know what they company says after I call them.

This is such a bummer! :( Just what we need! More things that we cannot eat! :angry: You are probably right about this. If they just began putting gluten in them, then only the older packages are safe.

Dear jennyj,

I love them, too! I was so upset when I noticed the wheat! :( These are so filling! They keep me satisfied. Thai Kitchen is not always available. Wal-Mart carries on thing one week, then you may not see if for months.

I also am VERY bummed about this change. I went to buy some more noodles about a month ago and noticed the "new" ingredient (wheat). BLEH!! I LOVED those noodles. They were SOOOOO yummy. I just don't understand why they have to go and add wheat to them!! BOOO!!!

I went to stay with my daughter agter she had surgery two weeks ago and when she got home I bought some for my lunch and she tried them and liked them, she isn't celiac. She called me a few days ago and said she is hooked on them now.

I know, I could not believe they changed them! They are great the way they are! Maybe we could start a petition or something to get the wheat taken out? What do you guys think? Or, perhaps I should write a letter explaining how many people will no longer be purchasing their product due to the change.

The noodles are addictive! I love them! Maybe writing the company will help fix this. These things are one of the few things that actually fills me up. Not many foods do that for me. I am almost always hungry!

I tried calling them the other day, it was a long drawn out process and I got annoyed and hung up. I guess I may have to try calling again when I have more time!! I LOVED those noodles.

Dear Jessica,

The noodles are so good! Why on earth would they change them? I assume it is a cost issue of some kind. Still, I am determined to find a way to let them know how I feel! I am going to point out that they are reducing their clientele by adding the gluten. There are 3 Million Celiacs in our country, on top of 10 Million more people who are gluten intolerant. If they know anything about marketing, they will change their mind!

Soooo I noticed that they had changed the box color (they are yellow now) on these noodles.....also changed some directions and such soooo I checked the box again.........they are back to being gluten free!! YEAH!!! I was so excited yesterday in Wal-Mart. I probably looked goofy!! I had to buy 2 boxes. WOOO HOOOO one of my favorite things is back!

      I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets...

      M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values. Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. I use them as a gluten free substitute...

      I see it everyday on my feeds. They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts. I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field. Some days I would just like to scream. So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach...

Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver.After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
