I had my biopsy today and the doctor said my intestines looked ok and my results will be back in 3-5 days. Is this something you can see visually or something they can only determine microscopically?

The changes can sometimes be seen if the damage is very, very severe. But the diagnosis comes from the pathologists examining the biopsy for particular changes.

Damage does not always have to be "very, very severe" to be recognized by a gastroenterologist during an endoscopy procedure. Intestinal damage was seen during my first endoscopy for celiac, and the doctor described it as "mild to moderate". The diagnosis was confirmed after the biopsy results came back the following week.

My 11 year old doctor told us everthing look fine after the biopsy with the naked eye and did not think she had celiac. A week later the test showed she was at the very beggining of having it and went ahead a diagnsod her with Ceiac :(

When did your 11 year old doctor obtain his/her license to practice medicine? :P

my daughter had a biopsy and GI doc said everything looked normal to the naked eye and said " I'd be very surprised if she was celiac"....til he got biopsy results. He apologized for leading me to think that way and said " I am surprised - she is without a doubt celiac, guess my eyes arent as accurate as I thought".

Many years ago yes, after eating and going to bed, apparently my esophagus filled with food that my body rejected, the esophagus would lay against the Heart sack (pericardium?) and the heart would respond by becoming arrhythmic. That went away with the strict diet.

I was commenting on the report saying it did not mention migraines! Yes it does last paragraph says have not seen any evidence that Celiac cause migraines! I thought this was about truth?

It has been known for some years that celiacs suffer from migraines at a higher rate than the general populatation. It is an established symptom.
