Ahhh i swear my right hand is good for nothing!! Today is my 3rd time hurting it badly somehow. Here's what happened this time : trying to walk between a computer and the board (with not much space) at school, and I rammed my right hand straight into the corner of the whiteboard -- right on my vein!! Its been swollen/numb/sore all day. You may think i'm weird but i took a pic of my hand, you can clearly see just where impact was. It's normally NOT red (i am a pale person). And i think my hand looks disgusting as it is because its so tiny lol... I've tried wrapping it in ice cold tensor wrap but if you have more suggestions pleaseee share!

It is FAR from fun. I dread tomorrow....seeing how I rely on my laptop for class notes, I may have to try hand-write instead!!! *thanks god for being a lefty*

Do they have a clinic or a nurses office at your school? Showing your hand to them would be the way to go. If you have a sprain or have broken a bone we can't really do anything for you. I hope it was just a bruise and is feeling better today.

Thanks guys, its still hurting today. I accidently slept through my first class, oops...So i'll just go to the 2nd one. Its still all kinda nunb in pain and it doesnt look much different than it did last last. The thing that's going to KILL me is we have a winter storm warning right now ..so not only will my arthritis be affected by the snow, it will by the temperature drop of about 15 degrees C with the wind!. I'm seriously tempted to just wrap it up DURING my next class and handwrite.

EDIT: Make that completely useless!! I couldnt even lift a half-empty kettle without it sending jabs down my whole hand. Can something GOOD happen to me already instead?? :( *wraps it now*

Yeah there is a mini doc office on campus. If it doesnt improve any by the weekend then i'll go there maybe. You usually need an appointment but i'll tell them it was accident so its not like I knew it was coming. If i deicide to be stubborn i'll just wait until I go back to the doc about my gallbladder a week from now

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
