Hello

I was hoping someone might be able to give me the name brand of that chocolate peanut butter bar that is gluten-free? Was it Atkins? Thought it would be a great snack to keep in my bag for a quick safe snack. Thanks all. Nancy

Genisoy southern style chunky peanut butter fudge is gluten-free. They are pretty good.

Enjoy!

I heard Atkins are gluten-free, but since I can't have dairy either I get ANDI bars. They are really good and gluten free and casein free. I get them at the Gluten Free Pantry, where you can buy them by the case, but they are still pricey at $2.00 a bar.

Both NHF whey and soy protien bars, in all flavours are gluten free, the whey protien bar in double chocolate brownie flavour is really quite good!

Genisoy Bars are the BEST! Also if you want somthing more crunchy there are Break Bars, which are immitation KitKat bars and they are pretty good.

The only Genisoy bar that doesn't contain gluten is the creamy peanut yogurt, all the others have enriched wheat flour or graham flour...the creamy peanut yogurt may also contain wheat unless it's precessed on a dedicated line...

clicking on the bar brings up its nutritional info...are there gluten-free flavours not listed?

We have a gluten free energy nutrition bar called Slimlogic. It is also low carb, so it fits right in to any low carb diet. It is produced by the Conklin Company and is available on our website. www.arlanna.com It is currently available in chocolate peanut butter, lemon delight, and caramel pecan. You can e-mail me at awray@conklinmail.com or call 1-888-266-0014 ext. 8177 and leave a message. I'll be glad to give you any information you need. Anna Marie Wray

The following Atkins Advantage Bars are also gluten free I called their customer service to check:

Chocolate Coconut

Almond Brownie

Chocolate Peanut Butter

Chcoclate Decadent

Cookies'n'cream (I would have written this one off just by its name alone!)

Smores (this flavour is currently available in the U.S. only)

They do contain maltodextrin but since none of these bars are corn free but are gluten free and safe for a gluten free diet, customer service believes that the matlodextrin is derived from corn. I'm going to try one this weekend, probably cookies'n'cream.

If you call their customer Service hotline (1-800-6-ATKINS), they break thier foods down by:

corn free

wheat free

AND(!)

gluten free

yeast free

peanut free

Has anyone eaten any gluten free nutrition bars? I've looked at our health food store but didn't find anything that I felt was safe. It would be nice to have something that I could ingest that's not a pretzel or cookie. I do keep the Crispy Rice Bars by EnviroKidz but I wonder if there's not something else that might be a bit more nutritious. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much.............Judy

My favorite gluten-free bar is the Boomi Bar, the Almond Protein Plus one. It contains only almonds, honey and whey protein and tastes like an almond cookie. It has 12g of protein per bar. There are very few health bars I feel comfortable eating because I'm supposed to avoid chocolate and excess refined sugar due to other health concerns.

Here's the page with the nutrition content of Almond Protein Plus:

There's also a gluten-free bar with cashews, but my local health food store doesn't carry it, so I haven't tried it yet.

Hope this helps.

Luna Bar makes a bar that is low carb and gluten free called Luna Glo. They taste okay in my opinion. Also, if you don't react to oats (as I don't) then Luna Bars make 3 flavors that do not contain Barley/Malt (like most of their bars). Those flavors are Peppermint Stick (which is great), Sweet Dreams, and Chocolate Covered Cherry. Now, these bars do contain Oats so becareful! The Glo bars I was told by Luna are 100% gluten free . . .

Check out "Organic Food Bar." They make a number of varieties, including one for vegans. All are "No preservates, additives, salt, or refined sugars. Gluten-Free." And no unfamiliar, chemical-sounding ingredients. Whole Foods has them. --Aldo

I've had Genisoy and Atkins bars.........just want to fill everyone in on something that scared me about Atkins. I called the company about them and kept asking to make sure that the Cookies and Cream really was gluten-free. Well, there's no wheat in it, but the ingredient malt is clearly in the ingredients section.........I'll still eat the other gluten-free bars, but I'm not having cookies 'n cream

I LOVE the Atkins bars ~ and I love the Cookies 'N Cream ~ have not had a reaction to them. Their peanut butter one is really good as well. Also the EAS bars are gluten free (except ones that have rice crispies in them). Both companies will e-mail you a list of their gluten free flavors. I would post them, but they are on a different computer! Sorry!

@bold-95, welcome to the forum. Rib pain can be caused by Chondritis, an inflammation of the cartilage in the ribcage or breastbone.  Vitamin D deficiency causes this condition and Osteopenia. Celiac disease damages the lining of the small intestine, making absorption of nutrients like vitamins difficult.  Nutritional deficiencies result.  Diseases can be caused by not having enough of certain vitamins and minerals. Vitamins are chemical compounds that our bodies cannot make, so we must get them from food or supplements.  Vitamins are crucial to our bodies functioning properly.  Eating a nutritionally dense diet is important, but to correct nutritional deficiencies, supplemental vitamins are needed.   Over the counter pain relievers like NSAIDs and PPIs can cause additional inflammation and damage to the small intestine.  OTC pain relievers worked for me but they hurt my digestive system worse.  Yes, Cobalamine Vitamin B12, Pyridoxine B 6, and Thiamine B 1 have an analgesic effect when taken together.   I'm leaving links below so you can see for yourself.   Analgesic and analgesia-potentiating action of B vitamins.     https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12799982/#:~:text=Disregarding pain resulting from vitamin, three are given in combination.   Mechanisms of action of vitamin B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (cobalamin) in pain: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35156556/   B Vitamins in the nervous system: Current knowledge of the biochemical modes of action and synergies of thiamine, pyridoxine, and cobalamin https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31490017/   Role of B vitamins, thiamine, pyridoxine, and cyanocobalamin in back pain and other musculoskeletal conditions: a narrative review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33865694/   The Combination of Neurotropic Vitamins B1, B6, and B12 Enhances Neural Cell Maturation and Connectivity Superior to Single B Vitamins https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11987730/

Diana, I replied “ready,” but I’m brand new to the site and don’t know if I replied via the correct place.  I would like to participate.

Luke warm bath (deep) with a handful of Epsom salts, and bath for about 20 minutes.  Be careful getting out of the bathtub, the magnesium (Epsom salts) can make you feel a bit woozy.  I've suffered from costochondritis, might be what you have?  I find rest very helpful, and avoid any foods that bloat you as this can put added pressure on the ribcage.

Are you saying that celiac causes you rib pain?  Or that your ribs are fragile due to being celiac?  Or that the vitamins you take act as an analgesic, and that OTC pain-relievers do not work for you?  I don't understand the connection.
