Store Or Off Brand List

I know there are tons of list floating around regarding gluten-free and brand name products. However, I know that we all cannot afford brand name products and use store or off brand products. Would it be possible to start a thread or list with store/off brand products that do and DO NOT contain gluten, i.e. Wal-Mart, Target, grocery store brands, etc....? Or is there already a list out there?

*NOTE - for store/off brand medications, mouthwashes, body care products, etc....*

Hmm, this isn't such a bad idea...

Stop and Shop clearly labels gluten. Like, in the allergen atatement it says "Contains: Nuts Eggs Milk Gluten".

Also I am OK with store brand rice cakes that are made in a sep. facility- as opposed to quaker. Plus they're oviously cheaper than the lundgerg

I was diagnosed recently with Dermatitis Herpetiformis and have been eating gluten free for about a week. I've wondered the same thing about food lists. It can be very frustrating. Because I have a large family I usually shop at Walmart or one of the local stores where you have to bring your own bags and put a quarter in to use the shopping cart. I was happy to discover an article on the internet that talked about Walmart including Gluten free in the labeling of it's store brand products (since 2006). I have found this to be true. :D I bought the Gluten-Free Grocery Shopping Guide offered for sale on this site and that has been helpful as well. Sometimes it's just less hassle to buy the brand you know is safe. Unfortunately, I haven't found a gluten free multi-vitamin. I used to take the Equate (Wal-mart brand) Complete Multi-Vitamin but I don't know if they're gluten-free. The label doesn't say it is but I read something on line that said it was.

Hopefully someone with more experience can shed more light on the subject. ;)

Wegmans uses Allergen keys, so if the product is gluten free there is a little "G" in a circle, usually the circle is orange too.

There lists is also found at Wegmans.com

Walmart's gluten free products will say gluten free below the ingredients. SafeWay also has a gluten free list they will give you if you call them.

I'm not talking about food items. I'm talking about medications, mouthwashes, body care, etc... that are store/off brand names.

We did not know that since you did not specify it in your original post.

I know and it's my fault. I didn't dawn on me until my last post. DOH! :)

Is there a digestive enzyme that helps build a healthier gut? I see people taking them but not sure what really works

So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352

      Thank you this really helped.

Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong.   yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.
