I was diagnosed with celiac disease 2 years ago and have been glutenfree since then - I do not feel any better today than I did then - maybe even worse. New symptoms - For the past 2 months I have been having one eye nearly close on me - I have no control of it. It droops for just a minute or two. I do not think this is related to celiac disease - what do you think? I have been looking online and see that many of the symptoms for myathenia gravis fit for me - is there a connection between celiac disease and MG?

Did you only drop gluten, or did you drop other foods also? I'm asking that because I am wondering if, due to the fact you haven't seen any improvement, whether other foods have been preventing your gut from healing.

Many diagnosed with Celiac also find that they have issues with other foods, commonly soy, corn and dairy, but anything can be an antagonist. Have you tried an elimination diet at all?

Myasthenia Gravis is yet another autoimmune disease that can be due to malabsorption and deficiencies within cells in the body. If your gut has not been healing then the malabsorption will only get worse.

Have you tried supplementing with any vitamins or minerals since going gluten-free?

      Thank you for all the excellent information. I moved from Wyoming to California. May be its where I am located but So far none of the Costco Kirkland brand I have looked at is labeled gluten free. Same with the Sam's Members Mark. The Kirkland nuts you mention all say they are processed in a plant that processes wheat. I am going to keep checking. Thank...

      I’m glad you have a clear answer. Some endoscopes have enough magnification for the doctor to see the damage during the procedure.

      I could not find the thread, but I recall at least one user who was drinking regular gluten beer daily but getting celiac blood tests done often (I think it was monthly) and doing a biopsy each year and all celiac disease tests were always negative. Everyone is different, but in general regular beer would be considered low gluten (not gluten-free!). I have no issues with Daura Damm, but those who are super sensitive might.
