Anti Candida Diet

MDRB

Recommended Posts

MDRB Explorer

Hi,

I'm wanting to start the anti candida diet. I know that I should cut out sugars, mushrooms, vinegars and fruits but I'm unsure about what else I need to do. What do I need to keep out of my diet permanently and what can I add in (and after how long).

I would really appreciate any advise from anyone who has tried this.

Thanks

What worked for me was to cut sugars, yeasts (including mushrooms and other fungi), vinegars, and fruits. I also started taking caprylic acid capsules, which I continued for maybe two or three months I think. It was awhile before I could add fruits back in, and I would guess the time will vary from person to person. For months it was only one piece of fruit a week at most.

I still avoid the other items, but again we're all different. I use Stevia for a sweetener.

The first two week were the toughest, as there was a definite withdrawal/die-off.

Thanks for the advice :)

What sort of symptoms can I expect with the die off?

How will I know when it is ok to start adding fruit etc back in my diet?

What I felt most was cravings, but there was enough relief to give me the willpower to continue. Most of this was over in around two weeks.

I don't know if there is a specific sign to suggest that fruits will be more tolerated. I'd simply wait at least a few months before trying any - probably six months or more. That is after you feel great, and know that the candida is no longer an issue. Then try one piece of fresh fruit, like say an apple, and wait a week to see how you feel. I suppose the digestive system will need to re-adapt too, which might also make you feel a little off if you eat too much too soon, even if candida isn't flaring up.

hello

you can find some information about the anti-candida diet here:

Open Original Shared Link

if you smoke you have to cut it out cause it makes your immune system weaker.

the symptoms from the dying off are usually gas, bloating, headaches, feeling extremely tired and extremely sleepy, but it depends on how many toxins you have and how strictly you follow your anti-candida diet. Drink plenty of water to help the toxins leave your body sooner!!!

good luck!!

I just found out I have a external yeast infection. I can give up yeast, vinegar, fungi not problem. But fruit? It is about to be summer!!! I can't live without bannanas. When I get sick it is the only thing I can eat.

Are there any foods, supplements that can kill candida? I would be interested in that.

Thanks.

of course there are....I am taking olive leaf extract and it is actually working. You can talk to your doctor about what you can take. You must take a supplement if you want to kill candida. But you have to change your diet too.....there is one supplement that claims to kill candida without making you change your diet. It is called threelak (I am not sure about the spelling) but I haven't tried it....You can check it in the net. Garlik is also a natural candida killer...

good luck

Here are a few that I have heard of:

Grapefruit seed extract

Garlic

Olive leaf extract

Aloe vera juice

Coconut oil

I have heard that some people cut out potato etc?

I can understand giving up the fruit because of all the sugar, but Vegetables???

Is there any reason to cut out vegetables or carbs?

When I was still recovering my gastroenterologist suggested I bought lactofree product as I was very bloated.  So I bought some from the supermarket and from memory, I drank a nice big glass of milk - and it went right through me literally within an hour or so, if my memory serves correctly.  I came off dairy completely next and it worked like a charm, but started to reintroduce quite gradually it as I missed it! To this day, if I overdo dairy products, they work like a mild laxative.  I've never wanted to give up milk completely as I like it so much, and my mum had osteoporosis and it's an easy way of getting calcium.  But it doesn't really 'sit' well with me.   You may need to experiment a bit as when I was healing certain dairy products were worse than others - I could cope with one brand of Greek yoghurt, but I got extremely and painfully bloated with another brand of live British yoghurt.

i have been strictly gluten free for 7 months. this includes avoiding anything that may contain gluten and making sure surfaces and appliances are clean. i am 18 years old in australia and my tTG-IgA results were 69U/mL, pretty low compared to most people's, for reference. i feel the exact same as before. sure, i was pretty much asymptomatic/silent. the worst i'd get was occasionally bad stools and pitting of the nails/brittle hair since early childhood - and i was diagnosed with low iron and vitamin d which checks out due to easy bruising and such. but those symptoms have remained. maybe i'm jumping the gun, sure. i know it can take years to fully heal. but being over half a year in, i feel that i should be, y'know, healing. i'm nearly at my wits end and wondering if i should have a piece of bread or something to see how i go - to see if i possibly have refractory? my mental health is declining as i feel myself wanting to bang my head against a damn wall out of frustration every day. cravings haven't gotten better. look, i love the stuff i still can have, like salads and such. OH! i haven't lost any weight, which is mind boggling considering i eat very healthily now! i've always been on the chubbier side which is atypical of coeliac. i just don't know what's going on with me. i try to remain hopeful but i'm just so sad all the time. thanks for reading

@Charlie1946There is a PM (Personal Message) tool built into the forum website that allows you to send a private message to other forum users. Just hover over their name with your mouse cursor and the menu containing that tool will pop up. This is useful if you want to communicate with an individual without everyone else involved in the thread seeing it.  Are you realizing that in my PPI taper down recommendations in an earlier post above, I was responding not to your posts but to @Caligirl57? If you must use a PPI, I certainly would advise taking the lowest dose that is effective for you.

Hi everyone, I'm still trying to figure out how to each message individually. I saw one with some information on sebaceous hyperplasia but now I can't find it.
