How Long Might It Take?

I know this is a question that no one can answer with certainty, but how long might it take for all of my joint pain/edema to go away? I had many, many symptoms and most of them have faded or are totally gone and I have been gluten free for less than 1 month. The joint pain hasn't changed. I had horrible leg cramps and those are gone, but the pain is still there. It's a sudden pain and it feels like a massive pressure building in my joints (elbows and knees) - like the way one feels when a blood pressure cuff is squeezing the daylights out of your arm. My viens sometimes are raised with bright red colored skin and sometime are not. My legs still swell at the knees and thighs almost always when I stand up. I'm just wondering, since there is such a noticable difference with all of the other symptoms, if these are not related to the celiac. Wondering if I should set up an appointment with my pathologist but afraid he will tell me to give the gluten free diet more time. Then the consult would have been a waste of my time...and I tell you, I can use that time cooking these days!

I didn't have joint pain symptoms, but I can tell you that it took me around 4-6 months before my fatigue went away. That was the last remaining of my symptoms. I am 6.5 months gluten-free now, and I am *almost* back to normal. Many of my symptoms resolved within the first month or two, but the fatigue just hung on. It slowly got less and less until I found myself no longer needing a nap midday. Just hang in there. Often we find immediate relief, but there's usually some residual symptoms that just take some time. :D

Hang in there. It can take several weeks or even months for your body to heal and symptoms to go away. It's also a possibility that the symptoms you describe are not caused by gluten. I've been gluten free for over a month but still have some problems. I think they're caused by accidentally getting some gluten.

I think you can safely give it some more time given your improvement to this point. Maybe keep a journal so that you can see any minor improvement.

If it does not resolve, you might consider other allergies and do an elimination diet.

Joint/muscle pain for me turned out to be caused by lyme disease. But there are many others here on the forum who had this resolve from much simpler treatment measures. You could just do a search here and see what you can find.

Thiamax (TTFD) plus a B-complex, and if you want benfotiamine, the Life Extension formula covers that at ~100 mg.

      High fiber can definitely cause sudden GI distress especially if it’s a new addition but accidental gluten exposure can feel similar. Keeping a simple food/symptom log and introducing new gluten-free foods one at a time can really help you spot the pattern.       sorry a bit confused so I should take my B complex along with Objective Nutrients Thiamax for TTFD but what about a Benfotiamine to take. The Life extensions contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine together or im confusing myself. I am trying to see if I take Thiamax what should I take for Benfotiamine. Thanks EDITING after further research I see ones water soluble ones fat soluble. So I guess 100MG as you suggested of Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. and the Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     would work for me.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.
