Not Sure What To Do

aside from all my digestive issues I also have an overactive bladder--probably the result of my IBS and straining to go to the bathroom all these years, who knows. anyway, my urologist wants me to take medicine for the bladder (sanctura) but im concerned that it will mess up my stomach cause one of the side effects is gas and constipation. would i be better off trying a natural product instead? theres no dairy or gluten in the drug, but i still dont know what type of effect it will have in my body.

thanks

Is it like you feel like you need to pee very often, even though when you do, your bladder might not have been all that full after all?

I have that when I get glutened. And before I went gluten free I used to go to the bathroom much more often than I do nowadays. I used to think it was just normal for me.

Anyway, maybe you mean something else. But mine resolved after a while gluten free, so maybe there's hope yet.

yeah mine has nothing to do with gluten

Then I don't know. That's a difficult decision to make. Are there long time side effects, I mean would it be possible to try the medication for a while to see how it works for you?

I have gotten this problem from time to time. But I am a female and it comes from bacteria getting pushed up into the urethra. D-Mannose for a few days works like a charm everytime for me.

But I dont know about guys anatomy. :(

This may sound like an odd suggestion but you may want to see if you can get a PT referral. They can help you retrain those muscles if the damage was due in part to the years of IBS. This applies if you are male or female. If you are reluctant to start a med you may want to try that first along with looking up food causes for bladder irritation.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
