Can I Use My Old Canisters For Baking Supplies?

Since my son and I have been diagnosed with celiac disease I am making the whole house gluten free. I tossed all my old baking ingredients and I'm replacing them with gluten free versions. I emptied all my canisters (plastic) and ran them through the dishwasher. Can I use them for the new gluten free supplies or should I just toss them out? If I have to replace them of course I will. I have so many I don't want to spend the money to replace them if a round or two through the dishwasher is sufficient.

I guess that all depends. If they are a soft plastic and could have any scratches or nicks or if there could be any places where gluten could hide (I used to have some that had lids that had several pieces to them) then you should probably replace them. Otherwise, they might be fine.

they are like Open Original Shared Link so I guess the tops might be a problem.

Don't forget your baking spices. I used to dip my measuring spoons in multiple ingredients and occasionally use them to stir some dry ingredients together so mine were contaminated.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
