Well this is my first post on here. I am 20 years old and I was diagnosed with Celiac, Sept 08. I just recently visited my dentist and apparently my enamel looks like a 40 year olds. He has no idea what celiac is and has no idea how to help my enamel. I'm young and i don't want to lose all of my teeth so i am just looking for some help. He mentioned taking some supplements but i'm not sure what or how much. I take really good care of my teeth but i continue to get cavities and severe mouth and tongue pain. My dentist had no idea how to help me so i was hoping that someone on here might be able to. I'm having a hard time coping with the celiac as it is and now i could lose my teeth..... :(

Ask your dentist to check into remineralizing agents. In the meantime make sure you are getting enough calcium and other minerals. Be careful of your teeth, that kind of goes without saying. My DS broke a tooth once with a gummy worm. Just did the bite and stretch with his front teeth and one broke right in half. Don't do stuff like that. If you do break a tooth don't despair though. Denistry has come a long way and there are a lot of things they can do that are not drastic.

Do not use a desensitizing toothpaste without checking to make sure it is safe.

Hi, Stadium!

I have always had problems and develope cavities quickly. I saw my dentist last week and he told me I have brittle teeth. I don't know what this means and wonder if it is because I do not drink milk (gas issues with it)? I already know my enamel is thinning.

      This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers.       Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
