I just switched to Ocella and cant tell if its gluten free or not. I called the pharmacist and she read the ingredients and she didnt see anything and said I should be fine. I don't really feel like listening to her and regretting it later. Does anyone know if its gluten free?? I'm supposed to start my first pill tonight. I'm gonna wait as long as I can. Otherwise I guess I'm gonna risk and we'll see tomorrow if its gluten free or not. wahhh wahhh

Hopefully someone can help me out.

If the pharmacey is still open call her back and ask her to call the company and find out. It is part of her job. Also ask her to note in your chart that you can not have gluten and all meds need to be verified as gluten free.

OCELLA IS NOT GLUTEN FREE.......I was just prescribed Yasmine (which I saw on a gluten free medication list) and when I filled it last night I got home and noticed they automatically gave me the generic Ocella. I was not able to find confirmation on-line about it's gluten status but became very concerned after reading several forums where women where having adverse reactions to this generic. My husband returned to the pharmacy today and after educating the pharmacist on Celiac Disease and our concerns, he admitted he couldn't say whether or not it was gluten free. Finally, he provided him a number to contact Barr Laboratories and after three phone calls, was told, they could not certify the generic Ocella as gluten free because of the inactive ingredients and the multiple vendors used. After providing this information to the pharmacy they reluctantly swapped out the generic for the brand name product. They then explained to me that unless your doctor specifically states: only dispense brand name drug - no generics, they will automatically dispense the generic if one is available. Personally, I'm not happy with that policy, but now that I know that I'll be sure to have my doctor mark all my prescriptions as the inactive ingredient standards are not the same for generic drugs as the brand drugs.

Yasmin is no longer being made, the generic is soon going to be the only available form of that particular pill.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
