Questions About Adhesive.....

I thought I read somewhere that adheasives on bandaids and such have gluten in it. Is this true? I react strongly. It's not the latex, because I react to papertape and latex free bandages as well.

I react to paper tape with a systemic hive-type reaction. Don't know why.

I am very sensitive to any type of adhesive. I have pulled up skin when trying to remove bandages. When I go to the doctor and they have to place a bandage, I usually ask that they just put the cotton and allow me to hold it a while. I am thankful I'm not a free bleeder.

Gluten in adhesives is a story that comes up over and over. However, I have never seen a case where it was actually shown that an adhesive did, in fact, contain gluten. I'm not saying it isn't possible, just that I have never seen it actually happen.

Lisa Mentor

It's highly unlikely, in my opinion, that bandaids contain gluten. Reactions to latex or the adhesive are common though.

Some one could contact Johnson & Johnson and put an end to this legend.

I don't react to latex, but blister from any type of adhesive (including

hypo-allergenic paper tape). I just sent an email to Band-Aid, - I'll let

you know if they respond.

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
