Dinner At A Friends

I have a friend who would like to go through the crazy effort of cooking gluten free for me. She has regular metal pans (not non-stick). Can we use those if they are cleaned, or is there a special process for removing the gluten from metal pans that will be too laborious for a one night visit. Yes, she is a great friend. We will be cooking together, so I can prevent CC. I'm very very sensitive to trace amounts.

thanks for the advice.

Can you line with foil? Or maybe pick up some cheap aluminum disposables? I'm sure your friend would hate to get you sick.

If you're cooking on the stovetop and her pans are aluminum, a thorough cleaning should be enough. If you are baking, lining with foil will work.

I had a similar situation over Christmas. We were at my brother-in-laws. I just scrubbed the heck out of his pans before I used them. I let him know I was going to do it before I even saw the first pan so he wouldn't be offended ;) . . . Then, to prove my point, I had picked out a large pot, noticed the tell-tale starch ring towards the top, pointed it out and asked "This is your pasta pot, isn't it" which provided a light bulb moment for the family members in attendance :D We didn't have any problems the few days that we were there.

That's really nice of your friend. :)

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
