Salad Dressing

I have only been gluten free for about 2 months now and, to be honest, I suck at it and have reactions about once a week...

I was wondering if there were ANY salad dressings that are gluten free. I am a college student and have a meal plan for the next two weeks and can't really afford to buy and cook my own foods, so salad is the easiest.

Kraft will clearly list wheat, barley, malt and rye. If you don't see it on the ingredients list, it's not in there.

Or, you can make your own salad dressing, which also doesn't cost much. The basic ingredients do not have to be refrigerated, either.

Oil. Olive oil is good. Gluten free vinegar such as real apple cider vinegar or balsamic. Or fresh lemon juice from a wedge of lemon. A sprinkle of salt. Maybe a sprinkle of sugar or sweetener, a shake of pepper. That's it. You can always add a little orange juice, wheat free tamari soy sauce, or mayonaise or ketchup to it to make different flavors. When you use dried herbs, garlic, and cumin and mayonnaise, you can make a ranch type dressing. Mustard and mayo, sweetened, makes a great dressing. I mix them up in a teacup.

I just keep a cruet bottle of oil and vinegar on the countertop, but you could keep that in your dorm room and just keep a little transporter container to take to the cafeteria with you.

Kraft Zesty Italian is gluten-free. Also check out http://www.(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned)/Annies-Naturals-Cowg...r/dp/B001ELL7W4 if you like Ranch. It has a bit more of a tangy taste then Kraft or Hidden Valley or any of the other main brands but it's still good.

Wow you read my mind! I too am a poor college student and feel like a rabbit from living off salads all the time! I have found most Kraft dressing will list whether or not it contains gluten. You can always put some chicken on your salad to spruce it up.

There are also quite a few salad dressings on store brand gluten-free lists so check those out too.

I tried a great one pretty recently, it Sophia's Cilantro Lime Dressing. It has no oil, it's 10 calories per serving and 10mg of sodium too. Delish. I use it to marinate chicken too.

You can get it at Whole Foods and I think you can order it online at amazon.

Hope this helps...

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
