Bread So Soggy

I have been using the Pamelas bread mix in the breadmaker for awhile now.It seems to be soggy almost wet and my child still eats it but I don't like it.Is there a secret with this?? And how does it need to be stored?? I do same on the directions as it says..

I'm not a breadmaker user so no help on that issue, but I did want to say there are so may gluten free bakeries now days that make very good products. You may want to try a couple in your area. Do you have any whole foods grocery stores, or natural grocers. In CO we've got a couple that make great products: Udi's and Outside the Breadbox bakery. (I don't know if either ship.) Closest thing to "real" bread I've had since diagnosis.

Also, try searching the archives here, under gluten free baking -- you'll probably find lots of tips there for making your own.

It needs to bake longer. If your breadmachine is adjustable, try a longer cycle.

Bread is "done" when a clean table knife plunged into it comes out clean and not sticky on the bottom.

Bread that is not done needs to go back in the oven. You can take that loaf, put it on an oven proof plate, and pop it into a heated regular oven @ 350

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure.
