Ok, I am sure you are all getting tired of my posts but I have so many questions that are popping up as I read others posts.

If my husband has a regular beer or sandwich do I need to avoid kissing him?

Is it true if someone uses a knife in the peanut butter and then spreads it on their bread and then back in to the jar I need to avoid that jar?

This all just seems so crazy! :o I am waiting for someone to say if you look at wheat now you will get sick! :P Alright, JK. It just amazes me how careful you have to be. :(

My husband says I don't have to worry about my hair products if they contain wheat, is this true?

Nope--not tired of your posts at all, ask away! :D

If your husband has eaten or drank gluten, ask him to brush his teeth and rinse well before kissing you.

Yes--you would need to avoid a jar that was contaminated by someone using a knife on wheat bread and then putting that knife back into the jar. It's best to have separate jars for things like peanut butter--you can use squeeze containers for ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc to make it simpler.

As for the personal care products--that's a personal decision. I stick with gluten-free hair care and soaps--others do fine to use products with wheat or oats. If you continue to have reactions while using them, try switching to a gluten-free brand and see if it makes a difference for you.

The gluten doesn't go through the skin, but there's a good chance you could get a small amount in your mouth, and for some of us thats enough to cause a reaction.

Think of gluten as raw chicken. You can't necessarily see the raw chicken juices, but if you wiped a knife on a raw chicken, then stuck it in a jar of peanut butter, would you really want that peanut butter?

I avoid kissing my husband right after he's had gluten, as he may have trace amounts on his lips, and could certainly have some in between his teeth, which the amylase (enzyme) in the mouth is not going to break down.

And I avoid personal products with wheat/oats because I don't want to have to be careful about my hands going near my mouth after I've put on lotion, or hair going in my mouth after I've conditioned it. (Toothpaste, you certainly have to be careful of. I would say the same with chapstick/lip balm and anything else that goes in/on the mouth.) (I don't wear makeup - despite being female - so I haven't even had to think about that one. ;) )

If you do go and see Kenny, spend the money to get up front. He is that good and next time we will spend two to three hundred per ticket. We don't go to many concerts but this one is worth it!

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
