Flu Possibly Turning Into Bronchitis--Medicines?

I wasn't sure which section to ask this in so I hope this is the right one. I'm currently experiencing a bout with the flu that's turning into a bronchitis which isn't surprising since I get bronchitis every year around this time. My doctor has no antibiotics he can give me that I haven't reacted to, he suggested going natural or just see if my pharmacist has any ideas what would be free of my allergens...he doesn't. Anyone know of anything that would be safe for me to take with the allergies/intolerances listed above and below? I'm desperate and feel like death warmed over.

I would try to find a compounding pharmacy (even if they have to ship you the medicine), and see what they can do for you.

Thanks Tarnalberry :D. I honestly have been at the end of my rope with this. I'll see if I can find any in my area.

Mucinex was fine for me...I think I got the one for lung congestion. Also the doctor gave me an antibiotic that was fine but I can't remember what is now (sorry). Might have just been the 'Z-pack' or whatever.

Open Original Shared Link is helpful. I bring it with me to every doctor appointment and make sure the doctor finds a drug that is on there before prescribing. There have been times when they're like "Okay I'll just give you [pauses after can't find on list]...oh, no...okay...um how about this then..." lol.

From my experience the list is not ALL inclusive of everything that is safe, but still, I use it as a safeguard. And just to avoid confusion -- that list is of things that ARE safe, not the ones that aren't. Sometimes I have to clarify that to doctors.

EDIT: Oh, sorry. You have problem with corn too. Not as 'simple' as just gluten. Well that gluten list might be a start anyway. Like above, talk the pharmacist or call the companies who make the drug if possible to get the number. They might know better than the pharmacist. I asked a CVS pharmacist once about a CVS brand over the counter drug...if it was gluten free...and she had no clue. That was pointless. :rolleyes:

The last time I had acute bronchitis my (substitute) doctor wanted me to take prednisone for it. I told him I don't do prednisone (am intolerant of it) but he insisted that if I went to the ER that's what they would give. I told him, well they may give it but I won't take it. It is gluten free, but I believe it can contain corn. It supposedly really calms down the coughing and the inflammation, but I couldn't do it. It would be something to consider (if no corn).

DownWithGluten, thanks for the page. Looking over it now hoping for the best :D. Not sure if I can take the Mucinex due to the warning specifically against chronic bronchitis as well as my reactions to ingredients. Gonna run it by my Dr and hope for the best.

Mushroom, I reacted to Prednisone as well in the past. when I get this my Dr just throws his arms up in the air saying "so what haven't we tried yet?".

      But M&M's contain milk, and would not be at all like a Tootsie Roll.

      I appreciate you validating me because medical is an issue and it's not ok at all they they do this. Some days I just want to call the news media and just call out these doctors especially when they are supposed to be specialist Downplaying when gluten-free when they should know gluten-free is false negative. Now dealing with other issues and still crickets...

      M&M Peanuts. About the same calories and sugar while M&M Peanuts have fiber, potassium, iron and protein that Tootsie Rolls ("We are currently producing more than 50 million Tootsie Rolls each day.") don't. Click the links to compare nutritional values. Both are made with sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. I use them as a gluten free substitute...

      I see it everyday on my feeds. They go out and buy gluten-free processed products and wonder why they can't heal their guts. I don't think they take it as a serious immune disease. They pick up things off the internet which is so far out in left field. Some days I would just like to scream. So much better when we had support groups and being able to teach...

Actively dealing with sibo and skin issues.Depression is the key because thats all they know, im depressed because medical has caused it because of my celiac and related issues. I should have never ever been employed as a bus driver.After 3 years still healing and ZERO income desperately trying to get better but no careteam for celiac other than stay away frim wheat! Now im having care because my head is affected either ms or meningioma in go in tomorrow again for more scans.I know im slowly dying and im looking like a disability chaser

While I get heartburn at night from commercial dairy milk, I do not from 'grassmilk'.

I just had an EMA blood test because I haven't had one since my Doctor moved away.  Got test results today, doctor ordered a D3 vitamin test.  Now you know what  type of doctors we have.  Now I will have to pay for this test because she just tested my D3 end of December, and still have no idea about my EMA.
