Three times we have eaten at an Udi's successfully. Twice at the location in Denver/Stapleton and once (tonight) at the Arvada location. I can't tell you how enjoyable this is. Delicious sandwich fare at Stapleton with fries!! Real french fries. I eat gluten and I ordered a gluten-free sammich just to see how it measures up. Honestly? I was worried that they messed up my daughter's sandwich (we ordered the same thing) because the bread was so tasty.

Tonight we went to Udis at the Arvada location. It's a lovely bistro-style place with pizza. No regular fries, just sweet potato fries, but an expansive gluten-free menu none-the-less. There are 4 (yes, I said 4) different types of gluten-free beer. One is Bard's Tale. There are two Green's varieties. The fourth is a micro-brew out of Boulder, CO that is gluten free. Plus, they have Strong Bow. There's a great patio that I have promised my daughter we'd go in the summer and sip on coffee and have warm cinnamon rolls. I can't wait!

Anyway--we're 3 for 3 at Udis with no glutening. They seem to really get it and the products are delish. Also, there's no add'l charge for gluten-free items, so that is a plus. The only down side is I think everything is slightly overpriced--about $9 for a sandwich entree, but the food is tasty and I think worth it.

If you are EVER in the Denver area, do yourself a favor and find an Udis.

This is so good to know! My daughter told me that Stapleton is just a stone's throw from where they live. Hopefully I'll be able to get to Denver this summer...but first I need to get to the point where I don't need to be three seconds away from a bathroom!!!

Do you have any other good recommendations for gluten free dining in Denver? How fortunate you are to live in a large city with so many options!

Sounds like a good vacation spot just for the food.

In the three years since my daughter's dx, there has been an explosion of options. There are several places we eat regularly including

Udi's (with several locations/variety to choose from)

Ling & Louies (real breaded and fried sweet and sour chicken that is gluten-free)

Noodles

Chili's (no longer on our faves list since they changed the bbq sauce)

Lone Star Steak House

Maggianos

There's more I just can't think of right now. I'd definitely say Denver is an increasingly gluten-free friendly city.

I just tried a new place in Denver this weekend for gluten free crepes. They were delicious! We had two meal crepes and two desert crepes. Here is a link to their menu.

      Welcome to the forum, @Ben98! If you have been consciously or unconsciously avoiding gluten because of the discomfort it produces then it is likely that your blood antibody testing for celiac disease has been rendered invalid. Valid testing requires regular consumption of generous amounts of gluten. The other strong possibility is that you have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity) which shares many of the same symptoms with celiac disease but does not have the autoimmune component and thus does not damage the small bowel lining. It is 10x mor common than celiac disease. There is currently no test for NCGS. Celiac disease must first be ruled out. Some experts in the field believe it can be a precursor to the development of celiac disease. Having one or both of the primary genes for developing celiac disease does not imply that you will develop active celiac disease. It simply establishes the potential for it. About 40% of the population has the genetic potential but only about 1% develop active celiac disease.

      TTG blood test and total IGA tested on many occasions which have always remained normal, upper GI pain under my ribs since 2022. I had an endoscopy in 2023 which showed moderate gastritis. no biopsy’s were taken unfortunately. genetic test was positive for HLADQ2. extreme bloating after eating gluten, it’ll feel like I’ve got bricks in my stomach so uncomfortably full. the pain is like a dull ache under the upper left almost like a stitch feeling after a long walk. I am just wanting some advice has anyone here experienced gastritis with a gluten issue before? thank you

Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶
