Pork Chops...probably Nothing But ?!?!?

Bad headaches, mild intestinal upset, fogginess, and lots of fatigue. On the one hand, I could have a sinus infection coming on strong - but on the other hand I'm wondering if I've gotten glutened.

Any ideas if Safeway pork would have anything in it ? I doubt it but it's all I can think of - pork chops my son & I made the other day (canned mandarin oranges, regular spices, pork chops & my rice). Oranges were Safeway...should be safe.

Just wondering, in case there is something I don't know about the pork ! Just that I have eaten some now & then over the last three days & it's gotten worse...seems likely as is seems to be after I eat some of it ! Argh I hate this....

Don't know specifically about this product but the only time I was glutened knowingly was when I ate some pork chops from the Angel Food box of meat. Turns out the pork chops were packaged/processed in some sort of gluten product. It was then that I finally experienced the real pain of a detoxed gluten episode... it's one I hope I never have again. I sure hope you get to feeling better!

Were the pork chops cut and wrapped at the Safeway store or did they come prepackaged? If they were packaged in the meat department at the local store, they could have gotten cc.

They were packaged in store I think - on a styrofoam sheet & wrapped in plastic. I dunno - as I sit here my sinuses are going to explode...maybe seasonal allergies or something ? Kill me now....LOL...very tired, sore, and headachy. Tylenol doesn't touch it & my tummy doesn't like motrin much...been picking stomach discomfort over facial & head pain after a point though.

My stomach (big D) isn't too bad so maybe it wasn't the pork...I wish I knew.

Probably it was the pork itself. I gave it up several weeks ago after reading about the stuff. I have more energy and feel better. Ate the stuff for years and never thought anything of it. If I ate some today, after being away from it for so long, I'd probably get sicker than hell. Want to know what you're really eating? It's pig crap. Pigs eat anything and everything, including their own fecal matter. It's a filthy, filthy animal that no human being should be consuming. Sure, I'll miss ham steaks, crispy bacon, delicious sausage links, and hot dogs off the grill. But every time I see one of these items, I just remind myself what I'm looking at - pig crap.

That doesn't actually make a lot of sense....pig crap ? So if I eat beef I'm eating cow crap ? Fish swim in their own crap...

Anyway, I'm looking at gluten.

I am feeling better. Not sure if it was a virus or the pork...think I'll stay away from the pork for awhile, it's a rare thing for me to eat anyway.

I agree with you that does not make alot of sense. If you really get down and look at things, all animals have something about them. The point is you want to eat product that is handled properly. My husband is a butcher so I'm a little biased and we love our meat!. He is very anal about our meat we buy. I don't even buy it anymore, that chore is left up to him since he is the professional. It is possible the item was getting close dated and you may be feeling lousy from maybe it being not at it's freshest. Did you season it with anything when you cooked it? Hope you feel better soon.

I love pork and anything made from a pig. When I eat it I notice some pains and such after eating. I asked my nutritionist and she tells me that pork is just a little harder to digest then other meats. Maybe that's why? I just won't eat pork for days in a row, or eat too much at one time.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
