Anyone used SCD Diet by Gottschall? It's called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.

Yes, there are a few of us on here that are doing it now. Do a search for SCD diet and you will find threads dealing with the subject. :) Let me know if you have any questions!

This diet is supposed to cleanse the intestines to make them better able to digest. It is totally gluten-free and a little more restrictive. It is designed to only feed you foods that your intestines can totally digest.

Anyone else use this? It's also supposed to be good for IBD, IBS, Chrohns, and even autism.

I started SCD two weeks ago. I really believe in it. I believe this diet is the healthiest diet I could possibly be on. I haven't had the weight loss though that others have had, but I am very convinced that it is due to my hypothyroid that needs to be adjusted.

If a product is labelled "gluten-free" it is considered to be safe for people with celiac disease (in the USA they need to test below 20 ppm). Some people prefer to eat only foods that are certified gluten-free, which are supposed to test below 10 ppm, however, they don't always test this low.

Why are so many gluten free items not safe for celiacs. I read labels all the time. I don’t know how many times they say that and are not safe for people who have celiacs. So confused. Help….
