Celiac And Graves Disease?

It's not the Gluten that's been making me ill...I hope to find it's Grave's Disease. It seems the symptoms I have been having mask those of being glutened, but I know it's not Gluten. My home and my dog are both completely gluten free (except his Mr. Pugsly's Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits which I ALWAYS wash my hands after giving him some). There is no possible way for me to have come in contact with it. So, I googled the symptoms and found several articles that link Grave's Disease (Hyperthyroid) and Celiacs. It seems that those who are diagnosed with Grave's should also be tested for Celiacs. I am hoping it will work the other way around too. I called my doc and asked for him to order the blood test. Grave's disease is hereditary and my Grandma had it.....could this be the answer I have been looking for? Although it will require me to take one pill per day for the rest of my life, it will be a minor inconvenience to fix my major problem and end the depression, paranoia, brain fog and insomnia....I usually don't wish for an illness...but fingers are crossed this time!!

I know what you mean about not wishing for an illness but hoping you've figured it out. I was the same way last month when I thought my thyroid had gotten worse and was praying for high TSH. Sure enough, I was underdosed and now I'm feeling better. Out of curiosity, have you been tested for B12 deficiency? It can also cause brain fog and psych problems and is even easier to handle than Grave's. Good luck!

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
