Gluten Free Cosmetics For Dh? Help?!

I have celiac disease/DH and want to wear makeup. Is Neutrogena gluten-free and ok to use? Any suggestions?

I carefully read the labels to make sure they don't contain anything wheat related (wheat germ oil, etc). Call Neutrogena, they'll tell you if the product you're looking at is gluten-free or not. The phone # is on back of the package, or probably on their web site. I"m not as careful as some people, but I figure it's a small amount and I"m not eating it (we're not talking about lipstick here), so as long as the label looks good I"ll use it.

Afterglow Cosmetics and Monave Minerals are two that are completely gluten free from top to bottom. All cosmetics and other products in their lines are gluten free. Neutrogena does have several, but I agree that you should check first for the type of product you want. I've looking into lots of gluten free cosmetics products, but haven't explored Neutrogena much yet. Post what you find here :)

      Thank you for the advice. I’ve actually never checked for nutritional deficiencies, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve always taken vitamin and mineral supplements — otherwise my symptoms get worse. This week I stopped eating gluten to confirm whether my symptoms are really caused by it. Starting next week, I’ll reintroduce gluten — it’s sad to go back to how I was before — but at least I’ll be able to take the necessary tests properly. I think the diagnostic process will be long, but at least I’m happy that I finally decided to address this doubt I’ve had for years.

      Hey Julie! I was in a similar situation before my biopsy and my gastro said Tylenol was fine. Just avoid ibuprofen or anything anti-inflammatory until you're cleared. Hope your surgery goes smoothly!

      I don't see how cornstarch could alter the test results. Where did you read that?

      For pain relief I take a combination of Thiamine (Benfotiamine), Pyridoxine B 6, and Cobalamine B12.  The combination of these three vitamins has analgesic effects.  I have back pain and this really works.  The B vitamins are water soluble and easily excreted.   Hope this helps!  Keep us posted on your results!
