I like the idea of Celiac t-shirts. Did y'all know they're making celiac awareness bracelets now too?

How about:

Celiacs just say "NO" to gluten!

I didn't like the original saying (or the politics behind it) for "drugs", though. I think that Nancy Reagan was the one that started it.

To Kailynsmom: Oh yeah...University of Chicago, University of Maryland (where I got mine), and Melonie (from Yahoo group, Silly Yaks) sells them.

I'm going to make "The Gluten Stops Here" shirt over at CafePress.com :D

What a clever slogan.

How does cafepress work? Can you buy just one shirt? Is it very expensive?

I went to a different website for shirts and played around and the shirt I made you had to buy a minimum of six and even then they were $30 each. Ouch!

You can buy just one shirt from someone's store and it's much less expensive than creating your own on a website. From the standpoint of starting a store, though, they advertise that you'll make so much money, but if you read the privacy/terms of agreement statement, there are all of these little loopholes--and of course, you have to then report your earnings on that to the IRS, and provide them with various forms, and there are various termination fees and other fees...I was thinking of making one of those once, just for fun to make the shirts, etc., but it's too complicated.

I still recommend www.neighborhoodies.com They have t-shirts you can make for less than $30. And they have bags, hoodies, hats, tank tops, and underwear if you want to put gluten on those too :) I have a hoodie from there and am thinking I am going to get a 'gluten' t from there too. I do like Justin's idea Abby :) I told my dad--he thought it was hilarious!

Thanks, Jen. I'll check neighborhoodies out. I do have a lot of ideas now for t-shirts that I would like to make. Of course, I could just buy a shirt and then iron on a print out from the computer. But I've done that before and they don't last very long with washing.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
