Argh The Bloating!

Ok, sooo, I have been gluten-free (over 3 mo)and doing! My stomach was showing the six pack potential and I felt AMAZING! Then, we went on a cruise. Yes they catered to me at dinner with my celiac issues but I was stubborn and tried to do my best during the day. Needless to say I failed! I could not wear my rings or 2/3 of my clothes by the 4th day! So I got EXTRA careful and within 7 days of getting home I FINALLY stopped looking like I was about to birth an alien from my rib cage.

My issue now....my heartburn is in HIGH GEAR (not seeing why with what I am eating), and I am having periodic days of EXCEPTIONAL bloating. I have taken to unbuttoning my pants and taking off my belt!!!! My staff can visibly see this bloating at work! I had NONE of these issues the past 3 months!

Things I am wondering:

I have had corn, vanilla ice cream, cheese sticks and cottage cheese in the past week. I have eaten cheese daily since I have been gluten-free (not ice cream & corn, that is rare). Did I possibly kick my celiac into such high gear that I cannot tolerate ANY dairy right now?? I have not yet noticed dairy being an issue while being gluten-free. I know that you can have issues if you get into gluten and need time to heal, but I am shocked at my bodies reaction right now. My heartburn is horrible (pains all the way through my jaw) and I am on medication for it!

Common sense says GO OFF DAIRY for a bit (it is my vice, the one main thing I eat!), I just wanted to know if anyone had input? I just had two cheese sticks and I suddenly look 6 months pregnant! (Guess I just answered my own question huh). I guess my shock is, before the cruise, I ate cottage cheese and cheese sticks DAILY with NO reaction and a flat tummy! If I did just rock my system, any suggestions on how long to hold off on dairy??

I suppose I am just frustrated in general! I went to the specialist, and even with my blood work, symptoms and family history this Dr. wants to scope me, even though I am gluten-free (and had a scope 7 mo ago due to my acid reflux). I think I am going to cancel the scope! I know MY BODY! I have very little doubt Celiac is the culprit! WHY can the Dr's NOT EVER listen!!!?!? He actually used the term "I am not convinced" so HE wants a scope! ARGH!!!

Any help/input/ideas/support would be appreciated!!!! Oh and btw, all of your posts have helped me immensely throughout all of this! Thank you!

I look 6 mo pg. if I eat any dairy at all without Lactaid caplets. If I take those, no bloat, no gas etc. They are great! Try Lactaid Milk and Lactaid cottage cheese and take a lactaid caplet with anything else. Works like a charm!

I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis and celiac a couple of years ago.  The GI doctor prescribed a course of budesonide, which moderately helped until I tapered off.    After a lot of ups and downs over the course of 2 years, I am finally in microscopic colitis remission.  Since I am also diabetic, I was started on metformin and Jardiance.  Metformin by itself helped moderately.  I added Jardiance and I was much better.  I stopped the metformin and relapsed and when I added it back, I regained remission.  I think metformin and Jardiance helped my colitis because they reduce inflammation in the gut.  Metformin is known to favorably modulate the gut microbiome and reduce...

Hello, @Mrs Wolfe, I crushed three vertebrae moving a chest of drawers.  I take a combination of Thiamine Vitamin B1, Vitamin B12, and Pyridoxine B6.  Together these vitamins have an analgesic effect.  I think it works better than OTC pain relievers.   I also like  "Takeda ALINAMIN EX Plus Vitamin B1 B6 B12 Health Supplementary from Japan 120 Tablets" .   It's all three vitamins together in one pill.  Works wonderfully!

It's the Potassium Iodide in the HRT pills that is triggering Dermatitis Herpetiformis and the increased IGG levels.   The thyroid is stimulated by the Potassium Iodide, which stimulates immune cells to make more IGG antibodies.   Thiamine Vitamin B1 helps the thyroid function.  I like Benfotiamine and TTFD Thiamax.
