The winner was.....CAT LITER!!! It's not even my cat, i am holding him for my brother because he poops in his house and his kids eat it....i am going to see him at Christmas and find out if he ever plans on taking the cat back...otherwise he's going to a new home. He doesn't poop all over my house...why??? because i shovel out his cat liter every day..sometimes twice...no wonder it crept up on me like it did....anyway, changed the liter brand...back to my old self!

***to all cat lovers, sorry, i am just not a cat lover...i do love my brother, and would do most anything to help him...but keep the cat!

Congrats on finding out what the problem was!

Just so we know to avoid it, too - what was the cat litter brand that got you?

I was using Tidy Cat...I don't know if there is wheat in it or not...but that is the only new thing in my life besides the peanut butter, i have still been eating the peanut butter...no problems..i stopped the cat liter for 3 days, felt better, tried it on the 5th day for a test, sick again on the 6th day....stopped using it completely...feel fine

I can't speak to Tidy Cat. I know nothing about it.

I operate a retail store that sells pet foods and supplies, including cat litter. The only litter in our store that contains gluten is Swheat Scoop--it is made from wheat. I have heard of a litter that is made from rye, but as far as I know it is not yet available in Canada.

For our own three cats at home, we use Open Original Shared Link. It is made from corn, is gluten-free, and is flushable. It is made by Open Original Shared Link of Muscatine, Iowa. They make many other products from corn, including corn oil and vodka (under contract with brands you would recognize).

If you're more comfortable starting slow, that's fine, but do increase your dose to 500 mg per day as quickly as possible.  The World Health Organization recommends 500 mg thiamine HCl per day when deficiency is suspected.  Dr. Lonsdale had researched high dose thiamine for decades, and he has used higher doses, 1 to 3 grams in some cases.   Like I explained above, it's at that 500 mg level or higher that passive diffusion happens and thiamine can get into cells.  Inside the cells, thiamine turns the mitochondria back on.  Mitochondria produce energy the cells use to function.  I had been taking a multivitamin containing thiamine HCl regularly and still had become deficient. ...

Thanks! I think I'll start slow. See what happens. Should I notice the thiamine working almost straight away if I'm really deficient? What kinda of difference did you notice? More mental? Of also physical in the sense of more energy?    Sorry for all the questions!

Absolutely no danger of overdosing on the stuff.  Thiamine is nontoxic, and safe.  I had gotten to 1000 mg of Thiamine HCl a day at one point.   Do continue taking the multivitamin with the other B vitamins.  You may want to add a magnesium supplement because magnesium and thiamine make enzymes together.  I like Magnesium l-Threonate (Neuro-Mag by life extension).  You may want to add a B Complex in addition to the multivitamin (take them at different times).  All the B vitamins are water soluble.   With Thiamine HCl, there's a "magic moment" about 500 mg, where sufficient thiamine can get into the cells by passive diffusion, and the difference is amazing.  In...
