Companies That Don't Hide Anything

Zatarain's is on a list that surfaces on this forum periodically of companies that don't hide allergens in their ingredient list. So out of curiosity today when I was in the grocery store I picked up a box of Zatarain's rice (I don't remember which flavor) and saw that the ingredient list contained "soy sauce" without listing the constituent ingredients or any mention of wheat on the label.

Do these companies that claim not to hide anything typically assume that consumers know soy sauce generally contains wheat? Or would that absense of a wheat warning indicate that the soy sauce is wheat free?

Thanks

Sarah

Just talked to a representative of the company to make sure that their policy was still the same. They will not hide any wheat, rye, barley, or oats. They will clearly disclose it if it has any.

Thanks, Kaiti!

I was too lazy to call them since I generally don't eat stuff like that.

Congrats! Can you share the recipe? We just picked up a bread maker from an estate sale and are experimenting.
