If You Could Just Use One Herb For Spaghetti Sauce....

Greek oregano is by far my favorite herb to use in spaghetti sauce. It grows in my backyard. I harvest it each fall and freeze it. Right now, I'm all out. I usually use thyme,as well, also grows it in my backyard. I'm not all out of thyme. It comes in second for spaghetti sauce.

What's your favorite?

majoram, assuming I had no oregano.

Definitely fresh basil as it adds the most punch, having had many yummy pasta sauces all over Italy! :)

Basil seems to have it. Which strain of basil is the most tasty to grow?

Genovese for sure. It is also very easy to grow (even here on the windswept prairies as long as it has protection and is a little sheltered). Genovese is also my first pick for pestos.

I may try growing that this year. My first choice is still Greek oregano. It has the sweetest, freshest taste of any herb I've ever used. This is not the same flavor as plain oregano that you buy in the store, as you know.

Oh, I love Greek oregano, too! It grows wild at our place in Croatia and it is so true that it is nothing like what you can get in the store - much BETTER!! :D

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
