Gluten And Milk Supply

I hope this isn't a dumb question, but if it is I appologize in advance! I stopped nursing my son about 5 months ago and after the milk dried up I haven't had any problems. Tonight I noticed a bit of milk leaking and I haven't noticed this for a few months. I'm not pregnant, haven't started any new medications or anything. I was gluten free for 7 weeks and last week began a gluten challenge. The only thing that has been different is going back on gluten. Is it possible for that to cause the return of milk production? It's probably a long shot but gluten is the only thing I have changed lately. My midwife didn't seem too familiar with celiac otherwise I would call there.

Yeast is good for milk supply but I think you need more than what you'd find in bread to have good supply from that alone. Are you drinking beer at all? Or peanuts? I know peanuts can help with milk supply. (I fed my daughter for 3 years and know a lot about breastfeeding and milk supply)

I'm not eating any peanuts. And I don't drink beer (can't stand the taste!). I did go to a bachelorette party over the weekend and had hard liquor there, but the milk started before then.

Milk supply has a hormonal, emotional, and sometimes physical.

It could have all happened because you looked at your baby or heard your baby cry.

No lie, I saw a seventy year old woman wet her shirt because of a crying baby. Sometimes it just can happen and it doesn't make any sense.

Wow! You're pretty young to have a diagnosis of SMA syndrome. But youth also has its advantages when it comes to healing, without a doubt. You might be surprised to find out how your health improves and how much better you feel once you eliminate gluten from your diet. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that, when gluten is consumed, triggers an attack on the villous lining of the small bowel. This is the section of the intestines where all our nutrition is absorbed. It is made up of billions of tiny finger-like projections that create a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients. For the person with celiac disease, unchecked gluten consumption generates inflammation that wears down these fingers and, over time, greatly reduces the nutrient absorbing efficiency of the small bowel lining. This can generate a whole host of other nutrient deficiency related medical problems. We also now know that the autoimmune reaction to gluten is not necessarily limited to the lining of the small bowel such that celiac disease can damage other body systems and organs such as the liver and the joints and cause neurological problems.  It can take around two years for the villous lining to completely heal but most people start feeling better well before then. It's also important to realize that celiac disease can cause intolerance to some other foods whose protein structures are similar to gluten. Chief among them are dairy and oats but also eggs, corn and soy. Just keep that in mind.

I was just diagnosed at 26 after accidental finding. Any simple tips for newbies? Things a non celiac would never think of? I already went through my prescriptions and identified some medications that have gluten. Is there a beginners guide? Celiac for dummies?

Would it be rude to ask your age?

Wow! Thank you @trents I  really appreciate the responses. This line of diagnosis has me questioning a lot of symptoms over the course of my life. Very validating and very much a bummer at the same time.
