Hi Ladies,

I just found out on Saturday that I'm pregnant (about 5 or 6 weeks I think). I'm trying to find an Ob/Gyn right now, and I know they are going to put me on a prenatal vitamin. Anyone know if they are gluten-free?

You would need to get the brand name or check with the manufacturer. Ask your obgyn, he or she may have info on that...but you will probably just need to get the vitamin info and find out yourself...

I will have to check to see what I take. Mine are chewable. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I too just found out I am PG (about 7 weeks). I am sooooooo sick- how about you? I get real sick if I get hungry(shakey) and sick after I eat. Hope this doesn't last long....

My doctor gave me a prescription that said "needs to be gluten-free" and left it up to the pharmacist. However, the pharmacy called on the one that my insurance covers, and they said that it is listed as gluten-free, but they won't guarantee it. What in the heck does that mean? Has anyone else had issues with pharmaceutical companies not wanting to guarantee that it is gluten-free?

I just found out I'm pregnant about a month ago, and I'm about 8 weeks along I think. I am feeling extremely sick as well. If I don't eat I feel really queasy, but if I eat, I feel really queasy too! It doesn't even matter what I eat either...no matter what...I feel sick. I'm praying that it's just from being pregnant and not from something I have eaten being contaminated with gluten, because I've heard miscarriages are more common amung celiac women...

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
