Hi,

I believe Chebe has frozen sandwich buns now, but they put some sort of rice product in them. I finally found Sterk's italian and cinnamon loaf bread. How is the taste?

Thanks again,

Traci

Are you allergic to rice? I am, that is why I am asking.

I live right down the street from Sterk's but am going next week to get bread. I am having a tough time being allergic to rice, so I am wondering how you are coping if you are.

Yes, I am allergic to rice, peanuts, egg whites, pinnapple, oysters, and I'm lactose intolerant! Whew! :( I was so happy to find Chebe bread because alot of Gluten free breads have rice flour! It can be very frustrating. It's getting alot easier because of how good and versitile I found Chebe bread to be. I nearly choked on my lunch in disbelief when I didn't see any rice in Sterk's bread ingriedents. I'm trying to have a variety of choices at my home, so I don't get tempted to eat foods I shouldn't. I have tried Miss roben's pancakes and chocolate cake (no rice). They didn't come out quite right. I think because of the egg substitute? I ended up with a stomach ache. Gluten Free Pantry has Orgran apple and cinnamon pancakes with no rice. I use them as bread substitutes when I don't have any Chebe bread. They are really good, Thank God!! My mom loves them and she is not gluten-free.

Hi LR girl,

I am eating sterks bread, the high fiber italian bread and the cinammon raisin bread. it is wonderful! After toasting, the breads taste so much like regular bread I couldn't believe it. it is crunchy and absorbs butter etc, unlike others I have tried.

Hope you like it!!

So far 3 months in - worsening symptoms. I have had the worst constipation in my life and I am primarily eating naturally gluten-free foods like potatoes, eggs, salad with homemade dressing, corn tortillas, etc. I hate gluten-free bread and pasta so I don't eat it. Occasionally I eat gluten-free almond flour crackers. As stated in the post, I don't have any vitamin deficiency. I was already tested.

Talk to your  Talk to your provider about testing for vitamin and mineral deficiency.  celiac disease causes malabsorption and eventually malnutrition.  Especially vitamin D. Having the gallbladder removed seems to be a common step on the way to a Celiac Disease Diagnosis,  Gallbladder is a sympton of deficient Choline. Eggs and red meat are the primary source..Choline makes up a majority of the bile salts.  The bile gets thick, doesn't get enough into intestine to digest fats well.  Can eventually back up into gallbladder, cause gallstones.  Without bile, bowel movements can become hard. Try to avoid all processed foods while you are healing, The gluten-free foods are not fortified with vitamins and use various ingredients to mimic fat that bothers many Celiacs.  Choose vegatables with low omega 6.  Optimum omega 6 to omega 3 ratio is less than 3:1.  Wheat flour is 22:1.  Grass fed milk is 1:1.   Commercial Dairies milk is 5:1.  They feed wheat, rye and barley Gluten as part of the food mix.

Your DGP-G is also high. The thing to do now would be to trial the gluten-free diet for a few months to see if there is improvement in symptoms.
