Right now plain tomato juice is about the only carb source I seem to do okay with. I hear a lot about nightshades being bad for you while healing leaky gut/celiac damage. How do you know if tomatoes and other nightshades are causing a problem? I haven't really noticed any issues with tomato juice, and I don't do well with other fruits. I need to have some carbs in my diet so I at least have a little energy.

If you haven't noticed issues then why would you worry about it? Everybody is different in th way they heal and almost nothing applies to everybody -- except not eating gluten. I wouldn't try to make a problem where there doesn't seem to be one.

I've never had any problems with nightshades. If you don't have symptoms from it don't worry about it. Not all celiacs have leaky gut problems.

I do have leaky gut. I just wasn't sure if tomatoes could be doing any harm even if they aren't producing symptoms. Some people make it sound as though you absolutely have to avoid nightshades.

We all vary so much in issues that there is NO common denominator. Listen to your body...that's the best indicator. :)

This doesn't answer your question but I'm not sure if you know that this intolerance is passed down from mother to child through Cord blood and or breast milk.

I’m having this type of MRI this afternoon,  What specifically do you want to know?  From what I’ve read, not all facilities use the same drink prep.

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you
