Has anyone ever gotten glutened from eating B&J?

There is a buy one get one free at my grocery store this week. I really want some.

I think they label their products clearly, so if you don't see any gluten listed, it should be safe. You can try to Google Ben&Jerry's - Gluten Free to see if you can find a current listing.

Yes, they do list any gluten, but I was just wondering if anyone's gotten sick from cross contamination.

Ever since I got sick eating an Amy's gluten free meal, I'm leery.

Well then, you might want to contact them about their production policies before you indulge yourself. :)

I haven't had any luck with Ben and Jerry's and it's a shame because I LOVE their ice cream. It seems that all of their gluten free flavors have corn, and all of their corn free flavors have gluten! The last time I tried it was during a weak moment. I got the peanut butter cup flavor which contains all glute free/corn free ingredients, but the label DID say that although the peanut butter cups themselves were gluten free, they are made in a facility that processes wheat. And it got me.

Hagen Daz is good, and my favorite of all time (actually, one of the things I LIVE for!) is Starbucks ice cream!! I don't care how much it costs, it's worth it.

They don't sell Starbucks where I live. I have to drive 60 miles to get it. But while I'm there I stock up on Cabot Vermont Extra Sharp White Cheddar. (All they sell here in the middle of nowhere is that disgusting orange cheese.) And I also stock up on Cape Cod potato chips. AND Kettle Brand. (I still like my junk food, but I'm getting better.)

And of course, going to a national grocery chain instead of the tiny little grocery stores in my town, I get better quality meats and produce, and at better prices.

And on top of that, if I go to the two national chains over the border in Nebraska, I don't have to pay sales tax like I do here in South Dakota. Well worth a monthly trip.

I second Starbucks! You can make homemade ice cream - milk, sugar, vanilla....put it in a freezer.

Cheap and you know the ingredients!

If you want a great experience try Talenti Gelato. Holy Moley!!! I found some salted caramel flavor today and can't wait to try it tonight !!! I'll be beating the hubby and kid to keep them away from it....

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
