Does anyone know of a place to purchase gluten-free cereal, pretzels, snack bars and cookies? We will be arriving 1 day prior to sailing and if possible, would rather not carry these items with me on my flight. I may not have a car available so would need a source I could reach easily.

I vacationed in San Diego for 2 weeks last October. If you can take a bus to the Hillcrest area (close to Balboa Park and San Diego Zoo), you can visit the Whole Foods and Trader Joe's in that area. I bought all my gluten-free supplies there during my 2 week stay in San Diego. However, there is also one large grocery store in downtown SD which has many naturally gluten free items (fruits, rice cakes, canned meats and fish, etc.).

I only traveled one time without taking most of my food with me. I was going to pick up the food I wanted at a Whole Foods (in Baltimore) when I got there. However, when I arrived they were already out of almost everything I needed and wouldn't get any until the next week. Ever since then I just take everything I wasnt with me. There is no way you would be sure you'd get what you wanted unless you called ahead and had them hold it for you.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It wouldn't be a big problem to carry a few things with me and leave me time to sightsee while on the West Coast.

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/
