A Crying Mess

What is it in gluten that can take a happy girl who is feeling pretty well to a crying mess with severe cramping, joint and muscle pain and cracked and bleeding lips. I feel like I have the flu. Is this the autoimmune reaction and my body fighting off gluten. I was either CC'ed or corned because I feel horrible. I just took a shower and got so weak that I had to sit down and I just sat there and cried. I don't have anything to be depressed about right now.

It's so hard when you are active to just sit here and suffer. I have so many things to do but I don't feel up to any of them today.

Is there anything to do for the intestinal pains other than water? Also- would my bleeding and cracked lips have something to do with being dehydrated.

I hate this crap so much!

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad, I understand as I feel the exact same right now. (Literally just woken up after passing out for 2 hours after accidentally eating gluten!)

You need to be patient with your body and not beat yourself up! Its so hard and frustrating because it seems so difficult to pin down what's actually wrong with you and to find out if gluten is really causing all of these problems!

As far as cracked lips go, that's something I always suffer from even though I drink tons of water, so maybe that is a gluten symptom! I haven't really thought about it  My lips have improved after biting the bullet and buying this rather expensive lip balm, but it really helps! Open Original Shared Link I presume its gluten free (I know not all makeup is  ) but it's never caused me problems :)

The best thing to do is rest, enjoy yourself and take it easy! Drink tons of water, peppermint tea is very soothing for your stomach, as is ginger tea and regular sweet milky tea :)

Eat nice but bland foods that are definitely gluten free, maybe go for a walk or a swim, give your body time to prepare and DON'T feel guilty!

I really hope you feel better soon :) I just discovered this website with tons of helpful tips Open Original Shared Link

Good luck, relax and feel better!

Hmm, water, rest, Pepto Bismol, pro-biotics, more water, maybe some peppermint tea, some marshmallow root, some aspirin and a very bland and sugar free diet.

I am so sorry. I wish I had an answer to help you. I am still being tested. I just wanted to say that I knew how you felt only I never knew it was likely Gluten doing it to me. For the last year, I have felt weak and dizzy and unmotivated every day. I look around my house and see it a mess and I cant even stand up still long enough to wash dishes each night. I sit when I shower, and I nearly pass out when I reach my apartment (3rd floor). I thought it was because I have gained so much weight in the last year, or my thyroid out of whack again. (when I gain or lose weight my meds need to be adjusted) but then I find out..its this.

Its good to have a reason for it...but for someone like me who wants to go go go and CANT..its devastating.

I am so sorry you got glutened, I wish I knew of a way to make it easier.

Braggs apple cider vinegar. A tsp in a glass of water does wonders for the stomach pain- works within seconds! Take as often as needed. The rest, well..it will pass. Hang in there, we have all been there! It gets better!

You should be fine.  You may start feeling better within a few days.  Someone who is very low in thiamine may notice improvement within hours.   Did you get the NeuroMag  or another magnesium supplement?

Yes Bobs redmill cgf oatmeal I started when I became gluten-free. So taking all 3 with breakfast should work? Will I notice any reactions getting used to these or should I be fine. Thanks

Hello, @pilber309, welcome to the forum! Are you currently consuming dairy?   You mentioned something about lots of yogurt and cheese, but did you cut it out or are you eating lots of it?   Could you clarify please? Some people with Celiac react to casein, the protein in dairy the same as to gluten with antibodies and villi damage.

You may want to skip the oatmeal.  I believe you're trialing a gluten free diet while waiting for an appointment with your doctor in the new year and doing a gluten challenge then.  Some people with Celiac disease react to the protein in oats called avenin the same as to gluten.  Cross contamination between oats and gluten containing grains is possible.  Are you consuming certified gluten free oats?   I would hate for you to have a reaction to the oats and blame it on the vitamins. Yes, it will be fine to take them all together.  I take mine all together, B Complex, Benfotiamine and TTFD Thiamine with breakfast. If you're really anxious about it, just take the B Complex and Benfotiamine at breakfast and the Thiamax at lunch.  You won't have to take a second B Complex with the Thiamax.

So I purchased the Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine along with the Thiamax. I will take along with my Super B Complexes. I stopped taking the multi vitamins. Should I take all 3 vitamins/supplements together with my morning oatmeal breakfast? Do you think I will experience any bad symptoms when taking them.
