Anybody At The University Of Idaho?

Cory

Cory Newbie

Hello,

This is one of the first posts that i have ever made on a site like this, and i was hoping to get some local insite from people in the area of the University of Idaho. My girlfriend, Krysta, Has been suffering through the last 2 years with Gluten Intolerance and I am looking to find others in the area that also suffer with the same.

It is hard enough to be in New York and being apart but knowing that she has few people who truely understand what she is going through is also very difficult.

Hello

Sorry, I'm not in Idaho, but I went to college there in Moscow, BS School of Communications 1994.

I lived there when I learned I had celiac disease.....hard to find resources there...you'll probably have to order them over the internet or from a local expensive place. Good luck to you...

I know this thread is long dead, but on the off chance Cory is still around or that others are in the Moscow, ID area, I thought I'd post.

I don't have a diagnosis yet, but am waiting on Enterolabs. I've had GI issues for the last 8months and tested negative for a lot of other things. I've been gluten-free for a month and a half and seeing some results. I enjoy the challenges of cooking/baking gluten-free and would love to help others in this area, if anyone is about...

I've been in Moscow for the past 14 years and don't imagine I'll leave anytime soon, in case anyone stumbles across this thread in the future. I can be reached at mraechel at hotmail dot com.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?

Thankyou so much for your words. Its a hard battle when a supposed well known hospital whose celiac " specialist " has down played me because my colon looks fine and put it in my medical and so pcp doesn't take seriously. In their eyes we all carry that gene.Im having alot of bad days trying to be positive because of it.
