  1. Just want you to know I'm not selling anything. So far Barleans is the only brand I found without gluten. I've always been into "self help" tapes and books.
  2. Uh, you could always go to www.barleans.com and order the green drink too...
  3. As a matter of Fact I have a brand that says "Gluten Free" on the front label. BARLEAN'S GREENS. I bought it at Wegman's. I don't know if you have Wegmans where you live. I haven't had any reaction taking it so I know it is. But I'll tell you one thing. My acid reflux is history since I've been using green drinks, only a few weeks! I'm amazed! www...
  4. That's why I like a machine that multi tasks. The VitaMix makes whole juice, sauces, hot soup, chops, sorbets and "ice cream", the worlds best smoothies and drinks, plus you can grind flours, make bread, and nut butters.. For the price it's wonderful for people who are into natural, healthy eating like me. A grinding machine is very expensive probably...
  5. Rice Guy, Thanks. (as I sit here eating my millet breakfast cereal) No I didn't do a google search, duh, but I checked here and went to allrecipes.com. I don't usually think to search recipes...weird. I search everything else.... (acutally I figured if someone hadn't posted it here there wasn't one out there. That's what I get for assuming) I have...
  6. Anyone have a good millet bread recipe? I searched and nothing came up. I'm interested in mostly millet compared to other flours as I have reaction to rice too. Thanks!
  7. I use my Vita Mix. I have the separate grinding container. I ground whole wheat in it before I found out I was a celiac... It did come out great. I recommed to keep the grain in the freezer because when you grind it, the VitaMix creates friction heat and it will make the flour hot, and can cause rancidity in the grain oils...(very carcinogenic)
  8. I found a couple of things that I'd like to give to the community as a "thank you" for all the help I received as a new celiac...though I've found it very difficult to give up gluten, at 50 years old, I do feel better when I am gluten free. One of the things I've found is Tony Robbins Get The Edge tape series. I found his tape on health was excellent...
  9. I found it harder to lose weight since I stopped eating gluten. My absorption is better and I'm absorbing calories a lot easier than before. I beg to differ with that doctor.
  10. It's using oxygen to speed up the metabolism to lose weight. check out www.oxycise.com I feel real good when I do my 15 mins.
  11. 140 is my ideal weight. I'm 5' 7". I was so careful to buy cream of mushroom soup without wheat for the green bean casserole at Thanksgiving and I used the French's fried onions that have wheat flour it them! I didn't even realize it until the next day. I didn't even have a biscuit or dinner roll! I didn't think the onions would have flour in them...
  12. Sorry, too expensive for me. I'm Oxycising...
  13. Oxycise is stretching with deep breathing to increase the metabolism. Check out www.oxycise.com for info. It's similar to Greer Childers Body Flex program. Same principle, different breathing method. Personally I like Oxycise better. It's easier.
  14. I am committing to 3 months of daily Oxycise to see if it would affect my weight. Anyone here done it before? She says that we wouldn't have to watch our eating anymore with Oxycise! I'll post back my results, especially if I'm losing. Since I started yesterday, I don't have anything to report... HA! HA! HA! HA!
  15. Wow. Thanks for the Info. I'm getting the book. I copied your post and sent it to my sister who is in denial. That's all I can do. She won't stop eating gluten and she is on antidepressants for depression and panic attacks!!! AMAZING! Thanks again!!!
  16. Where did you read that about the DQ1 gene dafadilly.....? Uh, yeah, I am Irish.. (and half hot head Italian) Glad you're not upset Kathy Ann...It's been a tough week for me too
  17. Relax Kathy Ann.There's no need for you to freak or leave. I am the one with the issue. I'm not that bad of a celiac and I never had extremely bad issues except IBS, so I get grossed out reading about people's BM's. Yours was pretty light compared to some other posters who almost made me sick reading it. IF you read my last posts I said I wouldn...
  18. Yeah, I guess it must just be me........I don't publicly discuss my bodily excretion functions on the internet soooo, I'll just stay out of the diagnosis, symptom forums.
  19. Losing weight has been a struggle since I passed 40. I think I finally figured out my weight loss plan! Maybe this will help. I eat semi-vegetarian low carb. Fish, chicken and some turkey, but mostly fish.. I allow myself gluten-free bread or spaghetti once or twice a week, usually on weekends. I cannot eat any gluten-free processed foods like, cookies...
  20. Kathy Ann, Read your first post to start the thread. You were describing your BM consistency. Well mouse, it's your opinion and then there's my opinion. I guess I have a more sensitive disgust-o-meter than some of the other posters here. And I still think KIDS don't need to read graphic symptoms. Well, I've made my point. I guess I'll have...
  21. It could be celiac but I wouldn't base all your symptoms on that. I went gluten free and I'm still tired. I have a lot of allergies and other intolerances too.
  22. People, can we be a little less graphic when we're posting on this forum..??!! WAY too much information is being given. We are not a doctor's office here. I don't know about other people, but I don't need to know the consistency of someone's bowel movement among other gross symptoms and gunk being noticed. I'm sorry but KIDS read this forum and...
  23. According to Dr Fine at Enterolab, it's all celiac disease. If you're gluten intolerant, you have celiac disease. There are just varying degrees of gluten intolerance.
  24. That's great you lost so much! I can't wait to get down there. Man, even Atkins doesn't recommend going under 20 grams of carb a day in the induction. Were you eating a lot of meat and cheese? Calories do count. People can't stuff themselves with low carb and expect to lose. Even low carb has limits. I'm more a semi-vegetarian lower carb...
  25. Oh contrare Ms. Tarnal, many people, such as myself, bulk up quite easily... more easily than normal. I would think it would be individual. Just because I'm a woman, doesn't mean I can't bulk up by just using light weights also. I like to use weights on my upper body. If I exercise the lower half I keep the resistance very low on a bike.
