  1. I broke my ankle last month and the ambulance brought me into the emergency room around 4:30 am and you'd think they'd be more considerate since I was in so much pain. They had me sit in a wheel chair holding my leg while they took their sweet time registering me and I waited for about a 1/2 hour with my leg on a chair in the waiting room.. 4:30 AM mind you...

Lister, have you ever tried meditation? Like maybe TM? It might help you to control your symptoms. You'll feel in more control.
  3. With an attitude like that, you're not winning patients over Andrew. Better learn now to be more compassionate before you graduate, or it will come back to bite you in the ....
  4. You can't change people. Don't even try to talk to them. Misery loves company. They have to decide to change themselves. Your reality is not their reality. To them you seem the weird one. You don't do drugs?EVERYONE does drugs! (or so they'd like to believe in their own little universe). I've learned that I can't offer help. If someone asks me...
  5. Thanks Evie. I've learned a lot. I also didn't know that insurance turns people down who are celiacs and gluten intolerant! cripe. That was really good to find out. I haven't been diagnosed. I'm more into natural medicine anyway. A stool test is enough for me. There is no cure except not eating gluten. In my opinion, my only issue, is that some...
  6. Thanks Lisa, I don't eat Barley or Rye and I gave up oats at the same time, which I haven't hardly been eating lately anyway. So now all I eat is rice and corn. I'm thinking about giving them up too. I don't think I can keep my weight down eating corn. I have been reading and asking questions, I guess you haven't been posting here in a few days. I just...
  7. I think the people here on the board are very nice, considerate and helpful. Thank you for answering my questions. I'm not confirmed gluten intolerant yet but I'll find out soon from Enterolab. I suspect I am. My stomach feels better, much less indigestion since I stopped eating wheat. Diana
  8. Hi, I'm new also and I decided to stop eating wheat. I'm waiting for the Enterolab test to verify my suspicians, but in the meantime, I decided to give up wheat anyway....I was here the other day asking people about withdrawal symptoms. I have cravings for wheat products I never crave and I feel irritable, crabby, tightness in the chest, nervous feeling...
  9. So what's left to eat?
  10. Must be that air allergy kicking in... lol
  11. This is from the Enterolab website "Gluten sensitivity stool test, tissue transglutaminase stool test (test for the autoimmune reaction caused by gluten sensitivity" Wouldn't the autoimmune reaction be celiac?
  12. Very interesting! So if you have a celiac gene, Entrolab can tell if it's active and means you have celiac disease? I don't understand. I hope they explain the results when I get them so I'm not clueless.
  13. I just ordered the full panal. I can't afford it but... I was reading a few posts and more than one person said they were satisfied with the testing results. If you do take the results to your doctor, they'll want to order their own tests anyway.
  14. I thought that when you go gluten free your energy returns? I thought the lack of energy is from eating gluten? Some docs believe people shouldn't eat any grains. Our bodies weren't design to eat grains.
  15. I'm goin' in. I ordered the complete panel. (gulp) I hope it's worth it.
  16. If you mean addiction to gluten then I agree. Thanks.
  17. I was wondering if anyone has had withdrawal like symptoms when they stopped eating wheat? I have cravings, tightness in my chest and I feel kind of depressed.
  18. Hi, You can try natural thyroid medication. Try a natural physician. The best thing is to not eat any processed foods at all. There's nothing but crap in them anyway. The Breadman bread maker by Salton is the best.
  19. Thanks for the welcome Shannon~ Have you tried giving up all grains? You might be alllergic to one of the others. Have you been tested for the heliocolbactor pylori bacteria? My mother had that and she felt a burning sensation on one side of her upper abdomen all the time until she got tested and it was positive. She was treated. Ever since I tried...
  20. Hi Thanks for your input! I thought it was my gallbladder too at first, but then when I didn't eat wheat or oats, I didn't have the gas/pain/pressure problem. I figured if it was my gallbladder, I'd have the pain with everything I ate if it was malfunctioning. I did have a blood test for standard allergies to eggs, wheat, soy, milk. All...
  21. It all comes down to the amount of calories you're eating I think. You should write down everything you eat to see just how many calories you're eating you might be surprised at all the hidden calories. A Starbuck coffee Drink with the whipped cream is almost 600 calories Also have to include your activity. Are you less active? Exercising less?
  22. I've been having strange symptoms and was wondering if others who have celiac has this. When I eat wheat about an hour later, I have gas, and painful pressure in my upper abdomen, in my sternum area right under the rib cage in the center of my chest. It's not really heartburn. I also get it with oats but not as bad. I'm asking this because the symptoms...
