ARCHIVED Enterolab Test
Mayflowers replied to Mayflowers's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Carla, how did you feel eating vegetarian? Did you have a lot of energy? I can't really tolerate beef. It makes my arthritis flare up. I don't like pork. I like chicken and turkey. If I just ate fish that would be pretty close to being vegetarian... Thanks Andrea, but I'm allergic to citrus. How did you feel as a vegan? Why did you go back to... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Test

I was told by Enterolab that it's ok to have ghee. It doesn't have casein in it. So I basically use ghee and olive oil. I've been drinking almond milk from Diamond. it's ok in my coffee. It's fortified. I was wondering how I was going to get my calcium, not being able to have dairy. I was going to eat goat cheese, even though Dr. Fine doesn't think any... -

Wow Nancy that is SO great! You are really an inspiration! I've been having a hard time with the withdrawal symptoms from wheat but I added more B complex and B-1 and boy it's helping a lot! I noticed the "brain fog" going away..which I thought was menopause... It's quite a bit more easy when you're younger to give up gluten... -

Have you tried removing all grains? The Paleo Diet doctor, Atkins, and Dr. Mercola to name a few believe that the cause of all auto immune disease and diabetes and cancer is from eating grains. The Paleo Diet Dr. believes we shouldn't even eat dairy, beans or grains or refined sugar, because our ancestors were hunter gatherers and our genes have not changed... -

Told you it was the caffeine. Probably also since you're going through withdrawals. I hear ya. I'm an ex smoker too. I smoked a pack and a half, sometimes 2 packs a day.... It's all well and fine to try accupuncture and massage but that only handles it temporarily. The attacking anxiety course helps you to control and stop the panic attacks and anxiety... -

Might I recommend www.stresscenter.com ? The Attacking Anxiety and Depression course is really great. This woman cured herself of anxiety, panic attacks and depression naturally with no drugs. I am big on natural cures. I think drugs are very bad for the body. I did the course and I have my anxiety under control. Her relaxation exercise is worth... -
ARCHIVED Ages Of Diagnosis
Mayflowers replied to Mayflowers's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Hi, You're very lucky. I never had wheat symptoms except, IBS in my twenties and the doctor didn't even think to check for gluten intolerance back then. I think patients had to be like your grand mother, holes in the intestines to be tested. He just gave me pills for the D and I figured out myself to add more fiber to my diet to stop it. I think when... -

I can't have the pancake mix..it has dairy in it.. I'll try the Bob' gluten free mix. I tried the Arrowhead Mills pancake/baking mix. It was very good. The texture was a little tough but the flavor tasted just like pancakes. I use real maple syrup. Makes a big difference. -

Tapioca? I didn't think anyone was allergic to tapioca. I'm taking extra "B" vitamins, B-1 and B complex along with omega 3 fish oils, a multi, and extra C to help my body heal faster and fight the withdrawals. It really helps. I hope these vitamins a gluten free....I think they are. They're by TwinLab. I just got an answer from TwinLab, they said B complex... -

Mayflowers replied to jayhawkmom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I hear ya. I'm gluten intolerant, milk intolerant and I fear egg, soy and yeast intolerant. I'm waiting on results from Enterolab on those. Today I was eating cashews and I started itching all over. figures. I was thinking of becoming vegan but if I can't have soy, it would be extremely boring... There's a lot of support on this board so welcome... -
ARCHIVED York Blood Test Vs Enterolab Testing
Mayflowers posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was wondering if there are people on this forum who have had both labs perform testing on them and their reactions. Which lab are they more satisfied with? Which lab did they find more accurate? Were the "red" foods to avoid correct? Were the "green" light foods correct? Did they feel York did an accurate test to measure for intolerances? I was considering... -

I had been feeling steadily worse after I passed 45. I had fatigue, sometimes I would get exhausted. I'm noticing improvements. I just noticed today, my dizziness is gone. I'm having improvements but not what I want improved is happening.. I guess it does take time. I'll probably notice more when I'm up and walking around more. If I have the... -

I'm not having an easy time of being gluten free. I'm having withdrawals, depression, cravings. Is my age a real factor? I don't have that much malabsorbtion. Are the older peopel, if you don't mind my asking having as difficult a time as I am? As I read the posts of a lot of people who feel so "great", I wonder how old they are... I'm 50. -

Mayflowers replied to azmom3's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi, I have two sons 14 and 16 and they are refusing to get tested for gluten intolerance. Well I can say I at least tried. I recommend the Enterolab stool specimen test. I had the full panel. I am also dairy intolerant. You might get a better idea. Dr. Fine says the stool test is more accurate than the blood test. The basic test is only $99 your... -
ARCHIVED How Sensitive Are You?
Mayflowers replied to ArtGirl's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Dr. Fine said the only difference between gluten intolerant and celiac is that the celiac got the damage to the intestine that the gluten intolerant hasn't had yet. So I guess that means there's only degrees of sensitivity from mild to severe. I guess a "mild" would take much longer to get the damage but eventually will get it ?? I have one gluten... -
I wonder if that's my problem, being depressed over my lack of food choices more than lack of gluten. My IBS has also flared up again! WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT?! I used wheat bran to keep it under control, now with no wheat bran, it's flaring up..! I knew I was milk intolerant. Every time I had dairy, my nose would get stuffed up. Sometimes, but...
