  1. I loved taking them during my first pregnancy and while breastfeeding. But they recently added a stool softener to the combo pack. I was disappointed because I have difficulty with stool softeners. I wonder if they make one without this added ingredient.
  2. You sound like you have some really great doctors!
  3. So what kind of treatment are you both going to have for Lyme? I probably need to go back to the doctor to discuss it. She did say that treating Lyme would be a lifelong thing (I was just hoping it wouldn't be!). I was so difficult to spend so many months on the picc line. I cannot imagine doing that again. What are some other options? I would like...
  4. I definitely had Chronic Lyme when I was diagnosed so I know it is probably still an issue. I spent 6 months on a picc line giving myself iv antibiotics every night. I had an allergic reaction when they switched my antibiotics so I had the line removed. Plus, the doctor and I agreed that 6 months was enough at the time for my body. I agree that you can...
  5. It is nice to know others are struggling with the same thing I am dealing with. I really thought I was going crazy when I started developing sooooo many intolerances. I was treated for Lyme with iv antibiotics after I was diagnosed with Celiac. I then had my gallbladder and appendix out. Then I got pregnant with my first child. I did well during my pregnancy...
  6. Has anyone asked their doctor about what could possibly cause so many food intolerances? I haven't specifically discussed my gazillion food intolerances with my doctor lately. I had been going to a million doctors for so many years before my Celiac diagnosis that I kind of got tired of going. Could there be some major damage to the intestines? I never...
  7. I have the same issues!!! It is so strange that so many of us have developed tons of food intolerances AFTER going gluten free. Of course, some were probably there all along, but now I get sick pretty quickly from foods I cannot handle. I feel like I cannot eat anything anymore. It is really frustrating! I wish there was more information on this. People...
  8. I wish I could have some answers for you, but I am very much like Laura. I did well on the gluten free diet initially and now I feel like I am intolerant to EVERYTHING, including ALL grains. It can get quite depressing at times because I feel like EVERYTHING makes me sick now. I am thinking about doing the Specific Carbohydrate diet (without the yogurt...
  9. Does everyone have the gluten sensitivity genes? It seems that way through Enterolab. Maybe everyone has them, but not all have active celiac/gluten sensitivity. My son has 2 of the gluten sensitivity genes which means that both my husband and I both have at least 1. I have Celiac, but do not know my gene makeup. My husband does not have Celiac or gluten...
  10. Thanks for all of the responses! We had the ImmunoCap done on Wed. and we are still waiting for the results. I hated having him go through the blooddraw. It doesn't specifically test for lots of foods, but does cover the main allergens. I guess we will go from there. He seems to be reacting to more and more foods now. I swear he may have reacted from...
  11. If Dr. Fine was actually running a complete scam with Enterolab, couldn't he lose his medical license? Do doctors think he is completely making up the numbers? I am just curious as to WHY doctors say Enterolab is bogus.
  12. The biopsy is the "gold standard" for diagnosing Celiac. I have no idea why though, especially if you have positive bloodwork. I was sick for at least 10 years before a doctor ran the Celiac blood tests. Mine came back positive and I immediately started the diet and my life changed. I never did have the biopsy. I guess the biopsy is a personal decision...
  13. It would be nice to have more answers, but at the same time, I think he is helping a lot of people. I do question the lab at times just because there is not that much information about his testing available yet. However, I cannot tell you how many doctors completely failed me over the 10 years I searched for a diagnosis. I think Dr. Fine is providing people...
  14. Right On Vicky! I loved what you said in your post. I feel the same way at this point. My son had negative bloodwork and positive dietary response. I have Celiac myself so I know it runs in the family. More doctors should encourage trying the diet even if tests are negative. Here is how I look at it--if you thought you had a certain disease, but were...
  15. Maybe more of us who have used Enterolab need to encourage Dr. Fine to provide more "proof" of his methods. There could be lawsuits involved if he is completely scamming us. Maybe he needs some added pressure. I have heard that he has Celiac himself so I cannot imagine that he would set up a fradulent lab. But it would be helpful to have more answers...
  16. Can anyone explain why doctors think Enterolab is "bogus?" Did anyone's doctor explain why they think it is a scam? I have heard that everyone creates antibodies in their stool so everyone would therefore test positive. I am just curious if doctors are explaining why they disagree with it. I would hope that Dr. Fine would not be doing what he does solely...
  17. My 20 month old son tested positive through Enterolab. He has been on the gluten free diet for about 3 weeks. We think he has some other allergies so the doctor ordered the ImmunoCap panel and wanted to run the transglutamise tests for Celiac. He just had his blood drawn today. Everything I read says that you have to be eating gluten to get accurate results...
  18. That is really interesting Carla! I was curious about gluten sensitivity genes also and whether they can lead to biopsy proven Celiac. I think the gluten sensitivity genes are the same as Celiac genes, they just haven't been labeled that yet by the medical community.
  19. I wonder why doctors think that Enterolab is a scam? I decided that if I find out it is officially a scam one day, then I will deal with it then. I think most people who test through Enterolab have Celiac and are just looking for validation of their symptoms. There are so many positives because who would spend the money if they did not already have the...
  20. I originally had bloodwork done on my 20 month old son, but the lab lost most of it. They ran the gliadin antibodies and they were negative. I decided to go with Enterolab and he was positive for both gluten and dairy intolerance. We just had an allergy panel done today and the doctor ordered the transglutamise (spelling?) tests as well. However, my son...
  21. So are the Sweet potatoe ones gluten free? They look gluten free based on the ingredients, but now I don't know? Did anyone get a definite answer that they are not gluten free?
  22. Check out their website at www.enterolab.com I think they can ship to Canada, but I am not sure. The costs vary from about $99-$370 depending on the test. Nikki2003, Do you have Celiac also? It is interesting that both your daughters have it. I am seeing more and more entire families testing positive. Both my parents have it, I have it and...
  23. That's what I thought about needing to eat gluten to get the blood tests. But, they are drawing blood anyhow for other allergy testing so I guess they will run the Celiac tests too. I know he has it so I do not need a positive result through bloodwork, but I wonder what the PED will say. He was positive through Enterolab and he had a positive dietary response...
  24. Hi Everyone, My 20 month old son tested positive through Enterolab a few weeks ago for gluten and milk intolerance. I took him off of both and he definitely improved. Lately he has been having more problems and I think he is reacting to other foods. I decided that we needed to run some more tests to rule out other allergies. He actually developed...
  25. I just wanted to say that I am so sorry that you are having to go through so much. I am sure it must be torture to watch your daughter struggle. I would try to find doctors who are willing to work with you, but I know that is difficult. She could very well be reacting to something else. My son improved once we took him off gluten and milk, but then his...
