ARCHIVED Questions From A Celiac Newbie
NoGluGirl replied to Lins's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Karen, I think these sound good! Thank you for the link! It is good to have some other options besides eggs for breakfast! You have to watch eating the same things too often, too, because you can develop new allergies. I am checking this out! Sincerely, NoGluGirl -

Dear loco_ladi, I was not able to lose a pound before going gluten-free, either! I never had trouble with my weight before. I always could just cut back on the fat and calories, and lose weight. Your body tends to try to protect your organs by filling your abdomen with fluid when you are a Celiac and eat gluten. It is a defense mechanism... -

Dear Sandy, Others are safe as well. I just use the Fat-free because I have to go low on my fat intake. Many of the regular full-fat versions and light dressings are safe as well. As long as you read the label, and gluten is not mentioned, it is safe! Kraft has been great about labeling for the past 13 years! You are very welcome for the info... -
Dear scotty, I am betting on Candida and the gallbladder as well. The tongue hurting and being white is thrush. You even have yeast in your mouth! The stomach issue with the gallbladder is very common. It can really make you miserable. Stomach pain is not uncommon with it, either. My colon used to cramp from it. ...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Lisa, I think that is normal. Anytime you use charcoal, it will come out that way! There is no need to be alarmed! You should worry if it did not come out! I have taken charcoal before, and it is normal to have coal crap. The IC will probably go away once the Candida is gone. That is the case with a lot of people. It tends... -

NoGluGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear Judy, We have been through numerous storms and tornadoes. My family and I appear to have an affinity with tornadoes! We had one up the road once, where you could see the top of it up the street! My brother was working at Wal-Mart a few miles south of us, and it touched down right across the road from it! Of course, I would chase them... -

Dear Rinne, I wish I had a juicer! I bet many people leave theirs' sit. My aunt does not use hers much now. I would love to have one! The greens can be expensive, but if you grow them in your own garden, that could save you money! The greens are great to alkalinize your system and to flush out toxins! Dear Bev, Thank... -

Dear Rachel, Oops! Sorry, that is what I meant! Warm, not hot! Sorry Lisa! I did not want you to cook your colon or burn your butt! In my defense, I could have Lyme Brain. Sincerely, Jin -
Dear scotty, I think Candida could be causing some of this. However, the prostate tends to cause problems with this as well. That squeezing sensation can really be uncomfortable. You could also have what they call an irritable bladder. The medications do have possible side effects, though. I know there are natural bladder relief tablets available...

ARCHIVED Questions From A Celiac Newbie
NoGluGirl replied to Lins's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear grey, Emily Elizabeth, and lins, Relatives are not understanding about this much of the time. I tell mine, you can destroy your intestines, but not mine! There are many sources of cross-contamination you need to be aware of. You will need new utensils, pots, pans, and need to check the status on your cleaners and everything else... -

Dear Lisa, I would go with frozen vegetables. They are less likely to be contaminated with mold. I cannot afford organic, so I get the Steam Fresh Birdseye makes. I have done well with them. Mercury and Candida can cause bladder problems. Candida is known to cause IC. I remember reading about it in my research. I think... -

Dear Susan, Losing touch with reality would make us so much happier! Crazy people are happy people. You know, I have had some out of body experiences. It is called astral projection. It is really weird, too! You just sort of pop up places. Some witches can do it at will, but I only do it accidentally for now! They say it takes a lot... -

Dear Rachel, Oats are HEINOUS! That is terrible the reaction you had! It is unusual you would react to the oats plain, but not the cookies. I think the chemistry of the food could change, too. That makes a difference. It might depend on the temperature and how long they were in the oven. Maybe even the pan you were cooking them on has... -

Dear Judy, Hugs to you too! Severe weather sure is something we have in common! We get it all of the time! Evansville is right in Tornado Alley! I am used to it, though. The new people in town are so obvious. They freak when the weather gets bad. Sincerely, Jin -

Dear Rinne, Yes, you recall correctly! I have been thinking of pursuing comedy. I am glad you enjoy my commentary. I try to take things in stride when possible. I love to make people laugh. Dear Susan, Oh, yes, the exploits of my insane relatives are always interesting! My mother is probably nuts. She is the one... -

Dear Momma Goose, I won't risk it. I am too sensitive. I get too sick. It is so not worth the misery! I loved their fries, but think a safer bet is to get Todd Wilbur's Top Secret Recipes books and do the fries according the recipe, sans gluten. That is the smarter idea. Sincerely, ... -

Dear Grump, I have not had a carbuncle. They sure sound nasty, though. I would not want one of those! It must be quite painful! I hope it gets better with the Epsom Salts! Welcome to the thread! Dear Rachel, That is so cool we have lurkers here! Do you know what this means? It is the beginning of tourism for Rachelville... -
Dear scotty, Reflux and pain can be caused by hernias. Have you been checked for one? They can cause pain all over the place! However, the gallbladder can give you gas so bad, it can make you hurt all over. That is what it did to me. The gallbladder could cause your liver to hurt. It is part of the hepatobialary system. When it cannot...

ARCHIVED Questions From A Celiac Newbie
NoGluGirl replied to Lins's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Karen, I agree that Emily should eat purer foods when possible. In the beginning, your system is more sensitive. You have to do it a little at a time. I was ecstatic there were things I could have that are not something I have to cook myself! It is exhausting having to make everything if you are like me and on a budget. I must say that... -

Dear Emily Elizabeth, You are so welcome! I know what you are going through. It is so hard! I want to make this transition as easy as possible for others. Dear Jodie, Boy does that story sound like mine! GI docs are so stupid! They told me I could not have Celiac either! They know nothing about this illness at all! Thank God I switched to a holistic physician last year! I have a little present for you to welcome you to the forum! I have a list that should really help. This is overwhelming... -
ARCHIVED Questions From A Celiac Newbie
NoGluGirl replied to Lins's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Dear Lins, I have a list that should really help. This is overwhelming. I went through this with myself six months ago. You spend most of your day cooking and cleaning obsessively. The rest you are on the phone with reps from companies trying to find out what is safe. I decided to save you the trouble! 1. There are a number of things in the regular... -

NoGluGirl replied to SunnyDyRain's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Dear SunnyDyRain, I agree with you. I would not chance using the charcoal brickettes, either. I do not care what they say, they are not the ones putting their health on the line! That is like us handing them a glass saying it might contain arsenic, and it might not, then telling them to drink it. Do you think they would drink it? It... -

Dear Donna, That explosive D sounds familiar! I had that with my colonoscopy prep, too! It was terrible! It shot out of you so fast, it is faster than the speed of light! I was really cleaned out, too, because I had to take 2 oral enemas, and 8 laxative pills! Never again! Sincerely, ...
