  1. You can make your own. Just put white sugar in a food processor, coffe grinder or blender and blend till fine. It doesn't take long. 2 minutes at the most. Amy
  2. Hi, My dauhgter is three now and was diagnosted at 2 1/2. She had stomeach pain, would say her knee hurt, was barely eating and waking up numerous times at night. She had diareha for 4 weeks then started throwing up. Her ped said it was viral! I said if that were true we'd all be sick. So I swich to a different ped. The first thing he did was test...
  3. Have you tried Folgers Simply Smooth? It's supose to be a stomach friendly coffee and they have a decaf. Amy
  4. Hi, My daughter just turned three and is also allergic to eggs, has celiac and is lactose intolerant. So we came up with a recipe for cupcakes. I have not tried this in a cake pan, but it make very good cupcakes. Hope this helps. Also I have a small cookbook started with muffins and some cookies, pancakes, pudding and fudge. Just let me know if you...
  5. I just took it out and felt it. It is powdery like a starch, but you can feel some texture to it. I think it's what you're looking for. Unfortunately I have never used any other brands but what they have at their store. It's all we can afford. Sorry I can't be more help. Amy
  6. Hi, I have used both. They are ground fine, but I'm not sure what you're used to. Also, I don't think there is a difference between the 2. Glad to see it might be able to save you some money! Amy
  7. Cathys Country Store is in Appleton, WI. Also I'm not sure on the cereal. It seems like my daughter gets sick even when companies say their product is gluten free. So, we play it the safe way. We make a hot rice cereal on the stove and add some sugar and cinnamon. If you'd like to know about that I'd be glad to post it for you. Sorry I wasn't much help...
  8. Hi, This is a local store we purchase from in wisconsin. They are very celiac friendly! They have a section of their store that is all gluten free. Some pasta too. We buy all of our flour from them. The website is Cathysbulkfoods.com. I'm not sure what shipping charges are, but it's worth the look. We save a lot of money there. Hope this helps some...
  9. Hi, I tried a lot of pancake recipies before we found one we liked here. My 3 year old is diagnosted my 18 month old is suspected and I feel better when gluten free. We LOVE pancakes in this house. Especially on those nights you just don't feel like cooking. We love this recipe. My husband says he can't tell they are gluten free! I came up with it myself...
  10. I always mix it with water. Meatloaf is the only thing I haven't been able to do well gluten, egg, and lactose free. Amy
  11. LOL! I also use flax meal as a substitute in most of my baking. I did attempt meatloaf maybe a month ago and it fell apart using just the flax meal. Amy
  12. Thanks for the comment but unfortunately it did not work well for meatloaf. Amy
  13. Hi, My daughter loves meatloaf and on such a strict diet and being picky I love to make her special meals that she will actually eat. Since diagnosted with an egg allergy I have not found a way to make meatloaf. Maybe I'm jsut missing something simple. Any suggestions would be a blessing! Amy
  14. Hi, I just made this for my daughter's 3rd birthday and they were a huge hit! We aren't dairy free but we are egg free and lactose free. We used Lactade milk, but I would think you could substitute what you use for milk just fine. Also, if you would like the original recipe calls for 1 egg. If you use egg also omit the Ener-G egg replacer. We did cupcakes...
  15. This is the recipe our family loves. Another option to make it more festive is to add some fresh cranberries. Hope you enjoy! Apple Crisp 7 large apple, cored and sliced 1 cup gluten-free flour mix ½ cup brown sugar ¼ cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon ½ cup butter, melted Preheat oven to 350*. Put apples in a buttered 9x9 baking dish. In a small bo...

  17. I just called Jennie-O and they said all their turkey's are gluten free! Hope that helps. Amy
  18. Hi, Last time I was pregnant I was not gluten free, but had a lot of trouble gaining weight. I ended up drinking 3 ensures a day to get the calories and nutrtion I needed for our baby. She was only in the 2% for weight and size while I was pregnant. I'm not positive on that being gluten or dairy free so you might want to check on that. It worked very...
  19. Hi, My daughter who is now turning 3 was diagnosted in August. She did have tummy troubles. When she does get gluten in her system she is very foggy, can't concentrate (count, alphabet, or answer questions) she is also a very angry little girl with horrible tamtrums for about 3 weeks after. My younger daughter (17 months) had severe allergies. She...
  20. Hi, The flour mix I like to use has 1 tsp xanthan gum per cup. I think it works very well for baking. Or if you would like I could give you a recipe or two for pie crusts that I have. Hope this was helpful, Amy
  21. I was told that Bounty are gluten free. I have also had problems with this. Mostly from Huggies. They say that they may but their products aren't intended for ingestion. Well toddlers put their hands in their mouths! We don't use them anymore. I find it safer to stay with companies who are willing to help to the fullest. Amy
  22. Hi, If you have a Sam's Club near you they sell a spiral cut ham that is pre cooked that is gluten free. The glaze is also gluten free. It says it right on the packaging! Since it's just the 2 of you go for the turkey breast only. I would use a roasting pan with no rack. To season it make a layer of of chopped onion, celery, and carrots. Put the...
  23. Alex, Thank you soooo much for all of your help! I now know I will try cupcakes for her birthday instead of trying a cake. I'd hate to disappoint her if it had to be thrown away. Thanks for the names of those books. I will be looking into them! Amy
  24. Hi, My daughter, 3 on the 25th, also has an egg and lactose allergy. We use her Lactade milk when cooking, but have encountered a new problem. Eggs!
