Ok so before i was diagnosed w/celiacs I was asymptomatic (or so i thought) and I'd used this body wash before and never had any problem with it. Well when I went home this past weekend I forgot to bring shower stuff home with me so I had to use my Mom's. My skin was fine before I took the shower. But when I got out after using this body wash I had a rash...

ARCHIVED Velveeta
bmzob replied to panda's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It's a kraft product, so they list everything. So if you read the label you should no for sure if it contains gluten in it. I've used it and the label doesn't list anything that contains gluten. I haven't gotten a rxn from it, but majority of the time i'm asymptomatic. -
i've only been gluten free for two months now and i am asymptomatic so i don't now when i eat gluten. but i enjoy eating out and not having to cook so i've been out to eat since i found out i had celiacs. when i go out i tell my server and the manager that i have a severe allergy (even though it's not really an allergy it seems to get the point across...

i'm not exactly sure and i may have it spelled wrong but thats how it sounds. i was diagnosed w/the hepatitis when i was younger so it never really worried me and i've never done alot of research on it like i have this. the main jist of the disease is that my body thinks my liver should not be there. so my white blood cells attack it. they have no idea... -

if i have actually had celiacs since before i got my ulcertive colitis and the colitis is part of the celiac symtoms...then i've had celiacs for 12+ years...why do not have any symptoms and why is the damage only to the first few inches of my duodenum in my small intestine. If according to you, I've really had celiacs for that long....why am I not malnourished... -

thanks so much for all of your replies...i really appreciate it. i'm not planning on ever cheating intentionally b/c i feel that i'll never give my intestine time to heal and it will just keep getting worse and worse. but, do i really need to make sure bathroom products don't have gluten in them? It's not like i'm ingesting that stuff? I don't understand... -
ARCHIVED Cupcake Preparedness
bmzob replied to Suzie-GFfamily's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I don't know about the shelf-life, but I would think it would be the same as other baked goods. Neither has any preservatives. If you put them in the fridge they should be good on sunday. Or you could freeze them. I made blueberry muffins and it's just me and my boyfriend living here, so I froze like a dozen of them. Whenever I want one I take it out... -
I am asymptomatic when it comes to gluten. I just found out I had celiacs about three months ago. My doctor told me I have it to a very mild degree. It's only blunted the villi in the first couple of inches of my duodenum. I have other issues too that I found out about years ago (signature). My doctor said that because I have it to such a mild degree...

some diet pills suppress appetite, others just give you caffeine/energy so you end up burning more calories. i know some of them are not good for you, it screws up your entire body and how it's run. what type of diet are you on? and how much are you eating/burning? you might not be eating enough calories compared to what your burning and that could...

ARCHIVED Those Who Don't Get Big Reactions...
bmzob replied to Saz's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Even though the Dr did state that, I am still going 100% gluten-free. And I didn't mention it but I do think I've gotten some syptoms even after being gluten-free for only 2months.. Like I went and got french-fries one day from chick-fil-a which are fried in the same oil as all the other stuff....and I had really bad bloating for like the rest of the day... -

bmzob replied to Saz's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am asymptomatic when it comes to ingesting gluten. My doctor told me that I have it to such a mild degree that I could afford to cheat once a week. But he also said that as human nature goes that once a week would turn into twice a week, which would turn into three times a week, and eventually I wouldn't be on the diet at all. He told me that I do... -

ARCHIVED Hidden Gluten?
bmzob replied to crittermom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
someone else had a post for the newly diagnosed that has lots of brands that will list rye, oats, barley, and wheat on their labels if it's hidden in anything This is from another post by TCA i think....she made it up as a list for the newly diagnosed and has lots of brans that will list that stuff: I've seen a lot of posts lately asking how to get... -
ARCHIVED Cardio Exercise Which Doesn't Use My Knees?
bmzob replied to Aussie Peg's topic in Sports and Fitness
Biking requires alot of range of motion on the knees, but no weight stress. The elliptical machine is excellent on the joints, but you would have some weight on your knees...i'd say water is probably your best bet. -
I'm in college and I just found out a month ago that I had celiacs. Most of my friends are bio majors, so they understand what I'm saying when I explain everything because they've taken anatomy & physiology...so that's pretty cool. The hardest part for me is I love beer and now I can no longer have it...I was never one of those girls that like'd the...

bmzob posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have a history of other issues....audiopathic autoimmune chronic hepatitus, ulceritive colitus, and now Celiacs. My longtime dr at children's hosptial said these three things commonly come together as a group eventually. My hepatitus is in remission, my colitus is under control, and now i'm gluten-free. bmzob replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Are your products gluten free? Country CrockTM Side Dishes do contain gluten. However, none of the Country Crock® spread or Spreadable Butter products contain gluten. this was on their site at Open Original Shared Link so yes their potato side dish does contain gluten -
If the low back pain continues for a while then it's probably not from being glutened since I would hope thats not happening everyday. If it's midlow back it could be something with your kidneys, if its low low back like just above your butt....you may just need to stretch...if your calves are tight it causes your hamstrings to be tight which then pulls...

ARCHIVED Before Going gluten-free Was Anyone Else Always Hungry?
bmzob replied to a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i just found out i had celiac's and it was sort of out of the blue because I have never had any symptoms. Now that i've been reading more and more about celiac's i think i may have had a few symptoms though....but so minor I never knew. When purchasing gluten-free items online like the cake, cookie, etc mixes and stuff like bread, cereal, etc...What are some good sites that you all have found? Are there any sites that have things for cheaper? Thanks Britni -
Hi everyone. My name is Britni, I'm 21, and i've posted on here a few times but I've never given my story...so here it is.
